Kraus Sinks? Do You Guys Like 'Em?

Well I am getting a little closer to the end my planning and the sink is a hard choice of course. I am thinking about this 32'' Kraus from Overstock but I have not heard that much about them out here. I like the Franke sinks with the integrated shelf but they sure aren't cheap. I would welcome any other suggestions. I am trying to stay within a 33'' base. Coming from a tiny double bowl that is 5'' deep makes this sink seem like a bathtub.

Search for Overstock on the forum. And use google to search rather than the garden web search -- you'll find prior postings. I expect Kraus, Ticor, Vigo are similar operations in China producing sinks for overstock. See the link below for the google search results I got.

Thanks for your comments everyone, I am having the time of my life watching the changes each day. Jo, I have 74 so far although some are duplicates and some in the ground which are surrounded with weeds and am embarrased to show lol. I am not sure if that Undulata is medio or uni, hopefully someone might let me know. Am trying to convert the sister lol, she has a 3/4 acre garden to plant from scratch, will start her with a few pots of old reliables. James, yes I ordered a few from bali-hai before I found out about the dutch guys from you guys and probably will give him a miss in future as his plants are so small also the exchange rate is does not help, I am converted to Mr VDT! I do have a lot of space but as I expand it is such a lot more to maintain but cramed with hosta, weeds will have no where to grow, I need some staff lol. Thanks for looking folks, the camera will be busy this year! I will Probably make it over 100 this year, but I probably won't aquire more than Mocc lol. Denis P.s. Don, you being the resident Guacamole expert/addict lol, Is she slow to get going in the spring? she is up but not doing much yet, thanks.

In response to Eve72's post, the Kraus 16-gauge stainless steel sinks do not rust. When rust appears on stainless steel it is because something external is on the stainless steel's surface that is rusting. You can use Barkeepers Friend to remove it. Let's clear up the ignorant statement about stainless steel sinks rusting. ANY stainless steel sink can show rust if steel wool like Brillo or other steel wool pads are used on it. I repeat, ANY brand of stainless steel sink, not just Kraus. When you see rust from steel wool, it's from the iron residue left by the steel wool on top of the stainless steel. I'll quote from Franke's website: Steel wool or metal scouring pads should never be used to clean your sink as they will leave a residue of small iron particles. They may not be readily visible, but they will lead to rusting and corrosion of the sink. As to Kraus faucets, I don't have direct experience, but in many years on this forum, I have not seen complaints here from Kraus faucet owners. I have seen Live_Wire_Oak's alarmist posts on this, but no one has ever stepped up in response and said "yes, I have a Kraus faucet which failed". I have seen many posts over the years about faucets failing, and they were often American-name faucets bought at HD. If anyone is worried about Chinese faucets, they better check their own Kohlers, Danzes, and Moens, many of which are made in China. I don't think anyone is going to pick it apart, because IMO it's a good plan. I like that you have separate prep and clean-up zones, and that the fridge is accessible to the living areas, without someone needing to enter the prep or cooking zones to get a drink, etc. As zsmith mentioned, the stub wall needs to be shorter, to allow the fridge door to swing past 90 degrees. I'd suggest moving the prep sink over, so that you have a bit of landing space on the right side. I hope there's a trash pull-out under the island prep counter, and that most of your base cabinets are drawers. Other than those suggestions, good on Mr. Kissel.

Moen Arbor - nice pull down that reverts to stream automatically when you shut it off. I moved into a house with a Moen faucet that did this and wanted one for our second home and was trying to verify which Moen faucets have this. I was mentioning it to my friend who is a CMKBD and she said she recommends the Moen Arbor to many of her clients. I ended up getting one and it's great. I also got the one for the bar/prep sink though the spray function on that one performs differently - only sprays while you hold the button - fine for the small sink.

I saw a few posts but not too much info. I guess they are all pretty much the same. This one seems like the perfect size for me.

I just had the Kraus 30" installed, and I love it. The size and depth are great. I believe the template that was included with it for counter top fabrication produces a slightly positive reveal. I asked our fabricator for an 1/8" negative reveal, and I really like the way it came out. The one thing to keep in mind is that the slope of the sink bottom toward the drain is very slight, so it takes a little more effort than I was used to in order to get bits of food to go down the drain. HTH!

Thanks lmfoodie. That does help. I just wanted to hear from at least one person that actually purchased one. Do you like the finish? Did you buy it from Overstock?

I like the finish; I think it's satin, but don't take my word for it. I purchased it from expressdecor.com because I also bought a faucet and soap dispenser and got a great deal.

I just noticed that the price went up on the 2 Kraus sinks I was looking at (one undermount and one apron front). I guess I need to check back when they have them at a higher percentage off... anyone have any info/history on pricing on overstock? I'll check other sites.

Hi All,
I just want to tell you about my experience with Kraus,
We purchased the sink, faucet and soap dispenser combo for around $650 no tax. We are very please with the purchase; so far everyone that sees it is impressed.. The sink in nice and deep and the faucet is also very nice, 100% solid stainless steel, led free, UPC certified and works great, what else can you ask for. The sink came in a large box and was packed in a large felt like bag, very impressive and the faucet came in it's own package, packed in a form type box with separate compartments. (It was like opening a Christmas package), We looked at sinks that were much more costly and it looks like Kraus is right on top with their product.
We got it from overstock, but Expressdecor now seems to have 10%-15% off for the same combos.
