Hi, We bought ours through Home Depot, on line. The price was right, and I knew I could return it easily if something was wrong.

I bought my sink on-line and saved a lot. Turns out the silgranite sink was cracked. Not a big deal, we returned it and a new one was sent that was perfect.
Bottom line: save the money and order on-line but order early and inspect it when it arrives.

Lcskaisgir, I was considering from Home Perfect too. Their price is the lowest but then I got worried about damage. There is a thread with reviews of Home Perfect but more complaints about lighting than sinks.

Icannotwait, you are right, definitely cheaper on line. Where did you buy your sink ? Did you open it and then refuse delivery or had to first get return authorization ?

I read those same reviews and was also worried. My purchase came down to timingâ¦I had preferred to purchase from Amazon but they, along with everyone else, were out of stock of the particular sink I wanted. So i took a chance!

Bought online (before Blanco set up authorized online dealers), no problems at all. We did inspect very thoroughly right while the UPS guy was here, just to avoid the worst-case scenario (and tipped him for the wait).

At the time, more than three years ago, it wasn't even a real choice to do otherwise. We're in the country near a small town with no local source (it might be that Lowe's has them now), and the sink/faucet/plumbing was the entire "reno". I bought the sink and faucet online and stored them for six months before we got the installation scheduled and prepared for.

If you're doing a lot of other work through a KD, contractor, or plumber, it might make sense for peace of mind and avoiding delays to buy through them even if upfront is a bit more $.

I bought mine at Pacific Sales, which is ironic because I do 90% of my shopping online (I have 3 kids and no time to go to stores!). I was browsing at Pacific Sales and happened to see a lonely looking sink sitting on the floor in the PS clearance section. I didn't know much about Silgranit other than that GWer's love 'em, so I grabbed it.

I purchased a faucet at a significant discount at Home Perfect about 6 months ago and it was perfect. At the risk of sounding like I work for OverstockDeals since I posted a few hours ago about the sale there, I just checked their pricing on the Precis Single Large Bowl in white and they are $236 due to their current 20% off coupon. As I mentioned in the other thread, I ordered a Kohler Whitehaven from them a few days ago and it's in transit so I can't vouch for their products once delivered, but they do have a great sale right now. And if you go through MrRebates (a click through cashback site) you get another 5% back.

As I said above, I shop for nearly everything online and have never had a problem. I always pay with my Visa just in case, since I know I could dispute a charge for a defective product if necessary. Thankfully it's never come to that (yet!)

Amazon saved me! I first ordered through HD and it never arrived then it became a time problem so went on Amazon, saved money and received it a few days later in perfect condition!

Our Silgranit Diamond 1 3/4 sink in Cinder arrived today and seems to be unscathed. :) (It's about time that a few things about this remodel start to go a bit easier!) We purchased from Home Perfect...I read a few different reviews that weren't completely favorable, but most of those seemed to stem from items not in stock and being given erroneous information in that regard.

We ordered the sink and the grids on 11/24 and it arrived today (11/27)...sure can't complain about that! In retrospect, we could have waited a bit longer, but many of the places I was looking for the sink online were saying that they were out of stock and it would be a 2-3 week wait. HomePerfect said that there were 3 available when I placed my order, and it has since been updated to reflect that 2 are available, so I'm assuming that they accurately deducted the one that is now sitting at my house for the next Lord-knows-how-long!

Just wanted to follow up. I did order from Home Perfect and received it surprisingly in 2 days. I posted in a subsequent thread about questionable small chip on bottom of sink. Pics to Blanco felt were popped air bubbles and recommended to not install and contact seller. HP has to get return letter/ label from Blanco as Mfg defect gets returned to the mfg. Told Blanco is slow and could be 5 days to receive and then would email the shipping label. I can get a refund or new sink at that time. 2 days and waiting.
Do not have the luxury of time and decided sink too risky to reorder. Bit the bullet and bought from local dealer at $100 more. Not worth the aggravation. And to reflect back on my original question, I would not order a large silgranit sink online again. It was very well packed in mfg box but was defect not shipping damage. Faucets, smaller items, yes.

Will add one more comment and will also post on the Home Perfect review thread. Customer service is thru a call center in India. And while people are polite, I have had to send pictures of the sink defect 3 times! I first called 9 days ago and 3 subsequent calls and they only have a record of the last one. Bottom line, only buy Blanco from an authorized dealer and seriously think twice about buying a sink online. Stainless steel is probably safer than silgranit.

Marissa - I'm sorry to hear that you had an issue. I had read the reviews where if the order was good with Home Perfect, you were in good shape...but if not, it might not be as smooth.

We actually tried to buy our sink locally from a place here where we looked at them initially and they weren't too excited about talking to us about just a sink (they sold complete kitchens). And they were even less interested in even coming remotely close to prices that can be found online...they were full retail, no discount at all.

I do think that it can be luck of the draw with the sinks. It's kind of a shame that it seems that Silgranit sinks can come flawed so often - you would hope that the company's quality control would be a little more on top of things.

Andreak, I could not agree with you more! It is the quality control or lack thereof that gets me. And I agree if you are lucky enough to get a sink that is perfect, you can really save money. No local vendor can compete with online prices but most will give you at least 30% but in your situation I wouldn't pay full price either.

Just got a flyer from Costco that their Silgranit II sinks will be an additional 30.00 off starting December 30. Current prices are between 349.00 and 399.00 online.

Marissa - we knew that they wouldn't be able to necessarily match online pricing and we do like to buy locally (and from smaller businesses) if possible. But, when they wouldn't even budge a nickel from list price, we knew we weren't going to get anywhere with them.

I hope that your new sink comes in without any flaws - it really does seem like luck of the draw. I'm excited to see it installed...probably not half as excited though as what you will be to actually have a sink again!
