white 3x6 subway tiles with slight color variations?

Do these exist? My options locally are super limited, so I will be ordering tile online unless I decide to go with a very uniform plain white subway. I am looking for names of some tiles to check out. I don't want any crackling, just something with some movement in the glaze.

Try someplace like this.

Old tiles often had more color variation, and the reproduction places match that.

We liked the 1/16" look for ours. Our colors are practically the reverse of yours--grey tile & pearl grout. We have a combination of 3x6s (top 2/3 of the shower) and 10x13s (bottom 1/3) separated by 1x12 decorative glass listellos. To me, the grout lines always look a little larger when complete anyway, so I would go smaller rather than larger. Plus it's less space for anything yucky to grow! Just my $0.02

It all depends on why that tile is cracked. if it's because of the mud bed behind it being cracked, thn that will have to be removed, as well, which means the whole thing comes down. Additionally, if you're trying to leave part of it up, and only replace some of the tile, you're going to have a tough, if not impossible, time matching up tile. White is one of the toughest colors to match. There are just too many variables that can influence the shade of white. Also, you can bet that the tile was, at one point, adhered to the mud bed. It was not stacked free-floating, away from the mud. My suggestion would be to take all the tile down, make sure the mud bed is still in good shape, and then install the whole wall. As for the mud cap at the top, I know for sure that both Daltile and American Olean carry mud cap pieces for their subway tile lines.

Have you looked at Daltile? I believe they have several lines that come with a crackle finish in off white ... check out the Folio line. Not sure about cost for that particular tile, but they do have affordable tile. Also, when we were looking for tile, I had some samples of a crackle finish tile from Ann Sacks. They have a few affordable lines as well, though I'm not sure they have anything in a $3 per sq. ft. range.

I second fireclay. Too expensive for us but the tiles were absolutely gorgeous and they have a color pallet that rivals Benjamin Moore!

Fireclay is beautiful but I think something like $24/sq.ft. for subways.

Waterworks had beautiful tile when I saw it years ago. It looks like their handmade 3x6 runs $16/sf. Which is less than many others. Grazia was another pretty one that was reasonably priced and hand glazed for that undulating, depth of color effect. I'm not sure of their subway size. It is probably still less expensive than Waterworks.

Maybe Grazia Melange Milk Blend tiles?

Just don't assume anything from the colors online, as I have the Green Tea blend, and they are definitely not a true green.
