Fridge water line leaking Tday morning

Thanksgiving day morning DD is taking a shower. When she gets out she notices a big puddle of water on the floor. We quickly realize it did not come from the tub or the sink. The puddle is against a wall and on the other side of the wall is the refrigerator.

Without even pulling out the fridge DH determined it is the water line for the ice maker. Two issues caused this. One is that the instructions say the ice maker should not be shut off for more than 24 hours straight. Nobody remembers turning it off. The 2nd is dust. DH pulled off the grill at the bottom front and it was really coated in dust.

I still don't understand the exact scenario but the water couldn't get through and started to back up and leak. The fridge is surrounded in drywall and the floor is slanted back (old house). The water ran to the back and seemed through the wall into the bathroom behind it. It also was dripping into the crawlspace below.

Lessons learned. Vacuum your refrigerator regularly. Follow the instructions to your ice maker.
