Soft white cabinets -- what company makes the least yellow/cream?

Hello,

I've been from store to store for the last few months looking at white cabinets (shaker style) for our new home. I do not want to go with the "stark" white option, I prefer a soft white. It seems that most of the manufacturers side on the cream/yellow color as the only other option. Can anyone recommend a brand with a color of off/soft white ? I plan to go with SW dover white or alabaster for trim (weÃ¯Â¿Â½ll see what goes best with the cabinets).

Brookhaven and Woodmode carry Antique White which is a creamy white. No yellow and no gray, just a soft white. Hope this helps.

Showplace does any Sherwin williams or BM color. At the higher price point Quality Custom Cabinetry does that and has several standards that might fit. There should be others.

We ordered some sample doors from Barker doors to see the colors. One was Sherwin Williams Pure White and the other Dover White. They were both really great. The paint chip for the Pure White looked really gray but it's not gray at all when painted. BUT this could be because they use a catalyzed varnish [I think that's what it's called]. I'm not sure if paint looks different based on the type of paint that is used. We ended up using the Sherwin Williams Pure White and I love it. It's a very warm white, no gray/blue undertones, at least in our space.

the thing I'd do initially is replace the small shades on the fixture with colored shades-anything-green/barn red/gray/black/blue/patterned-the current color is just accentuating the same aspect in the paint of cabs. Replace the valance that's resting ontop of the roman shade with something that coordinates with the shades and more tailored-maybe a check or ticking stripe .....French country would have some color infusion in this kitchen [maybe consider painting the chairs]-then the cabinets will recede in the overall scheme and appear more of a neutral. the next level of change to consider would be new glass doors for the upper cabs-or a couple of them. doing the few easy things would yield results-the space isn't that far from being right for the concept.....there's always more-like molding between soffit and ceiling,etc...not sure too much more is really necessary.

Oh my so many suggestions, thanks everyone!! So I agree with the consensus not to paint the cabinets and work on the surroundings. @blfenton and ellendi6161… Sorry for posting in both forums, I thought this forum was a little quiet, but I guess not!!. @lisa_a….I love the Bianco Romano too, was just lucky that it came with the house. The blue backsplash will definitely highlight the countertops. @Amber…I didn’t even notice the hardware, but yes, I agree will look for something. That will be a cheaper upgrade then painting the cabinets. The bar stools I have currently are similar to these. I am planning to use these if they are the right height. I don’t think I want completely white kitchen. @Carrie B….I might look into blue shades, not sure if they are removable, will check. My current décor is a warm mix of orange, browns, red and teal. I have a brown leather sofa, red rug, lampshades, teal curtains etc…All of this is going into our basement. For the new plan, I was thinking pastel walls, cream/baby blue/yellow sofa/sectional with pastel accessories. A natural colored rug/runner. Something like this:

Lol sabbath. Looks great. I wish I could get a better look at the finish on the cabinets. I hate the fake nicks and dings-good on you!! it is funny this just resurfaced because I have been fantasizing about painting my poopy beige walls (never liked them) my creamy white trim color (love). The areas I selected for this incongruously cold beige are fairly low light, including a long narrow hall and high narrow stairwell. But the thing I hate the most about it is how close-but-not-quite it is to my dark cream cabinets. Looking back on this thread I see I loved Kjoy's mockup of the walls the same color as the cabinets and the white door and island painted darker colors. I hated the white walls with the cream here. I think I am sold on the lighter cream for my kitchen though, it shouldn't be as stark as op's stark white and cream. Maybe will post a pic if I get around to it.

White has to have some color undertones to be "off white". Those color undertones can be bluish (very cold feeling).
Greenish (also cold, and throws other colors off)
Red (most people HATE pink undertones in their cabinets, despite it being a fairly flattering undertone for complexions)
Grey (a true gray that has no mix of any other tint in it than black will take on different tones in different lights, but most do feel "cool")
Yellow (This is what most "cream" colors have their basis in as it's a warm tone. Too much can leave it feeling "nicotine stained" though.)
Orange (This is a VERY tricky undertone to pull off, but it can work quite well to give a warm feel to the white. )

Yellow undertones are the most popular off white, and they are the easiest to work with when planning a room as most woods have yellow undertones. Grays are popular at the moment, but as a long term choice, they will not stand the test of time as an "off white". They do better standing alone as "gray" by choosing a dark enough tone that it shifts to that rather than "off white".
