Gas log shut off valves
Comments (0)My client has converted 100yr+ ornate brick(1) marble (1)and tiled surrounds (2)fireplaces to gas logs. Each has a shut off in the basement but the home inspector indicated the shut off valve must be in the room of the fireplace. What is the least invasive and least costly way to address this? Comments (1)disconnect the wires from thermostat and see If the valve still stays half on, if so the valve is bad. If the valve shuts off 100% then the thermostat is bad somehow....See Moregas shut off for natural gas grill??
Comments (1)No. Shutting it off with the shutoff won't do anything different than turning off the gas at the burners. Only thing to watch is that the shutoff is mounted securely enough to take the abuse of repeated use. Comments (17)there is a really old looking analog type meter (looks like an old school car odometer that reads the gallons. it has wires coming out of it. not sure if it is what's reading it or not. I didn't even trace the wires. Thanks for all the help!!...See Moreweedmeister
