I can't believe this is flowering like crazy again!
Comments (17)Hal, yes the HF Young did rebloom on new wood. I need to get some pictures of it and show its blooms this spring and now. I have this happen quite frequently on my type IIs. Sunset, which was supposed to be Margot Koster (type III) when I purchased it, was pruned as a type III one winter. The next spring it put out new growth and bloomed on it and that was when it was IDed as Sunset and not Margot Koster. My Blue Light bloomed, as shown above, on new wood. As has been said before, clematis don't read books and don't know they aren't suppose to bloom on new wood. Have you seen Bob's posting here where he shows how some of his type IIs rebloomed this season on new wood after cutting them back?...See MoreCrazy Crazy Fall Plant Swap! NEW

Comments (18)I would say you are neither...(stupid or crazy). I am amazed at the number of people who say they grow them and they do well. I spent a fortune trying to find a hosta that increased in size, didn't get eaten by slugs and such, and didn't melt in the heat. And the only one I am left with is my original Walmart cheap-o that really took off once its shade tree passed away. It gets dripped on constantly in spring/summer/fall from my dripping birdbath. So, I say go for it - realizing that it's not an easy, happy go lucky plant. I do wonder if all the really high bred hybrids are right for use in Texas. Seems you might want to start with ones that are locally available. I've also noticed the garden centers don't stock nearly as many as they did a few years ago. That might be another clue too!!...See MoreCraig's List Chair & Ottoman ... I can't afford to fall in love
Comments (14)Oh, Funkyart -- Thank you so much for giving that visual! Yep, you're absolutely right - the chair does indeed take the room in the wrong direction, and while I still love it I think I will just pretend it doesn't exist. The seller emailed me back and said she's received a lot of inquiries (not surprising; our CL is usually filled with crap - like "beer" chairs) and that she's not wanting to drop her price. (It would be adorable in my upstairs bedroom though ...) Thank you all again for the thoughts on this!...See Moredilly_ny
