Oh - I like this set very much! I haven't priced chairs and/or ottomans on CL, but this price doesn't seem too unreasonable if the pieces are in as good shape as they appear to be.

I'm hopeless ... I just emailed the seller to ask if they were at all flexible on the price. I "need" this about as much as I need a poke in the eyeball with a fork, but it's just so darn cute!

Would that CL chair/ottoman be too much in the same room with this chair?

actually, I think it may complement your other chair very nicely.. but it may take the room too far into the cottagey look for your home/style.

OK ... taking the room too far cottagey/too over the top cutesy ... That's why I need you guys! The voices of reason!

But still ... the fact that it's cute is why I'm so drawn to it! I need a second little old cottage to fix up in syrupy sweetness style.

I think the chair you OWN is far cuter than the one for sale. I agree competely with mitchdesj. The one you already have is "just right" (said the baby bear!)

I assumed you were not intending to replace the very pretty yellow chair and replaced the wicker/rattan chair. My thoughts haven't changed, I love the eclectic style of your room as it is now-- i think the second cute cottagey chair disrupts the balance you have so artfully achieved already.

This strikes me as a great bedroom chair-- do you have room for it there?

I agree with funky and stinky. Your room is perfect as is, and the new chair seems too busy and would take away from the charm.

I absolutely love the chair/ottoman but I think it's overkill in your room with the rug you have and I think it will take up too much space. That being said, I like the chair that you have in there now better, size wise and the color. I'd say keep it as you have it.....lovely room as is!

Oh, Funkyart -- Thank you so much for giving that visual! Yep, you're absolutely right - the chair does indeed take the room in the wrong direction, and while I still love it I think I will just pretend it doesn't exist. The seller emailed me back and said she's received a lot of inquiries (not surprising; our CL is usually filled with crap - like "beer" chairs) and that she's not wanting to drop her price. (It would be adorable in my upstairs bedroom though ...)
