I have a few large pots (think lobsters) so I got one lower cabinet (farthest from the kitchen) with doors. Who knows what I might collect in the future. If you want drawers - measure you tallest pot and then measure the largest drawer. I would think 11" would fit most 3 drawer cabinets.

We had our drawers built by on-site carpenters because we were doing a facelift, and just changed out some bottom cabinets to drawers. I gave my largest pot to the carpenter and said the bottom drawer (under the cooktop) needs to fit this! And it does, by about 1/2"!!!

I don't have one anymore that works with induction :(. But I'm super excited to have discovered I get an 11 piece Henckels set with my cooktop/hood purchase! woohoo!!! Good thing because only 2 saute pans and 1 cast iron pan worked! Now I just have to wait 8-10 weeks for it to arrive...

But when it does arrive its going with the food processor and the bread machine into the lazy susan in the corner. (I have all drawers except for this and the under sink. I guess one could leave it under the sink too).

Ours are in a deep drawer in our island.

My tallest one is 11" and it just fits in my bottom drawer (11" inside, 13" outside (full overlay)). Because my stockpots and small roaster are steel and my other pots are cast iron (including the big roaster!), I'm willing to put them on highest shelves, but so far the tall stockpot stays in the lower drawer.

Inside drawer height measurement is about 12 3/4" (maybe a hair above that).

I have all drawers in my kitchen but have a serving buffet in my dining room with lower cabinets. My tallest ones are in there.

In the pantry on open shelving, next to the crock-pot, hand mixer, vaporizor, electric griddle, and blue speckled 15 year old turkey/pot roast double oven roaster pan! The pantry is open to the kitchen, but these bigger kitchen items are tucked nicely away, hidden by a small wall and can't be seen from the kitchen.

BTW, in case this helps better visualize the am't of storage space/sizing: the pots on the left are a 10 qt pot nested inside a 12 qt pot (old Tools of the Trade pots). The ones on the right are another TotT 12 qt pot with an A-C 8 qt pot nested in/on it. In front, a 6 qt Farberware pot is sitting on (the upended lid of) an 8 qt Revere Ware pot.

The drawer below my microwave is about 12 inches deep and holds my two 12-qt stockpots nicely. I also had one base cabinet in my island built specifically to hold my very, very large stockpots (a 16-quart with strainer insert nested inside a 30-quart). I don't have a picture of the inside of that cabinet, though.

I have almost entirely drawers. With that said, my biggest pot was... the biggest I could find (to make never ending batches of pho.) I could not fit that in any drawer. So, I left one large cabinet in my island for big items (be that a crock pot or my pho pot.) I also have pantry room for that as well...

I keep the 16" pots in the pantry.

I have a pull out under my induction cooktop. I can store something up to 18" tall, and my 21 qt is not quite that big.

My problem is I have three larger stockpots that work with my induction cooktop, and that cabinet only has room for two.

My really big stuff gets stored in my summer kitchen, and the two canners get stored in the large back closet. I started using that as my pantry but I had to move the jars to the cellar as I ran out of room.

My kitchen is still in process and I'll have a large appliance storage area. So I'll probably make sure I design it so the largest pot will fit. I'm a bit of an appliance junkie.

Mine are in the cabinet above my refrigerator. I don't use them that often so it's okay for them to be up there.

I have a capacious cabinet atop the fridge; it's 36w x24dvx24h.
The biggest stockpot fits easily (20 qt).

Mine are kept in the cabinets in the back of my island.

My lobster pot is in the basement (it would be in the garage if I had one.) Anything that is used infrequently doesn't get to take up room in the kitchen. Our basement door is right next to the kitchen and eventually we will have a closet right when you get down there with the oft used overflow in it. We do not have a huge kitchen but our appetite for cooking and tools/implements is larger :)

The 20 qt lives in the basement, as I only use it every couple weeks.

I have 2 very large pots. One a blue speckled pot that I use for canning and it stays in a closet in the laundry room with other canning stuff and my "chili for crowds' pot is on the top shelf in my pantry. Like others there are other odd shaped things like a HUGE tupperware bowl and a tub with bread flour, and my precious piella stone dish.
Before moving into my new house all of this was on a shelf in the garage which was just steps from the kitchen.. I'm SO happy everything has an inside home now. :)

We keep lots of large items in a Gladiator brand 4-shelf cabinet in the attached garage.
