And what type of marble will you use (bianco carrerra, etc?) If you find out the brand of the backsplash, you may be able to find photos on the manufacturer's website.

You won't regret going with Bianco Antico. It is a gorgeous granite! We have it in our kitchen as well.

What I wanted to add, is make sure you get a sample of your backsplash and hold it up against the Bianco Antico. Bianco Antico is a somewhat quirky stone that can lean towards more beigey-pink, more yellow, or more grey (like mine). So you should make sure the marble backsplash you choose has the same overall undertones as your particular slab of granite. Do you have any photos of your granite slab?

Have you seen Dmlove's backsplash? I think it sounds similar to what you're going for.

I think the above advice is good. My only concern with the Versailles pattern is the business of the pattern with the patterned Bianco Antico which is a beautiful stone. If your kitchen is large I guess the multiple lines, along with the floor tiles, would be fine. However, if the kitchen is not large my opinion is that the backsplash pattern needs to be more sedate to allow the Bianco Antico to be the star of the show. Just an opinion however!

Thank you RED. The marble has no name, of course, from the flooring store (trade secret I guess), so I can't go to their website and see a gallery or whatnot. If I don't do versailles, what would you suggest other than subway tile? And what about floor? I'll try to get some sort of photo.

How about just 4" tumbled marble in creamy white on the diagonal? what do I do above the stove top? A square with the rust metal bars and then what in the center?

If you can find marble subway tiles that take on the colors in the Bianco antico, I think they would be beautiful. I also like your idea mentioned above of a creamy 4'' tile.

Have you seen Alku05's backsplash? It is beautiful with the Andromeda granite, but both seem to blend really well with the white and gray colorings in both the Andromeda and the mini marble tile. My impression is that Bianco Antico is more active in color and pattern than Andromeda and thus my caution about a busy backsplash.

Another idea, if the budget allows, might be to consider a full height backsplash out of the Bianco Antico.

There was another kitchen on this site where the owner put up an oatmeal colored glazed crackle tile and then tore it down and put up a glazed white crackle subway tile. As I recall the cabinets were white, however, but the granite was either Bianco Antico or Bianco Romano. The finished product was beautiful. Perhaps a ''search'' function below using Bianco Antico would bring up that kitchen.

It was lisa226's kitchen that had the oatmeal tiles that were torn down and the granite was Bianco Romano. However, I searched lisa226's post about her backsplash problem and thought to myself that the 4'' glazed tile as she had installed it might be nice with your Bianco Antico. Her post also included a picture of a beautiful treatment behind the stovetop which might interest you. The color she used might not be right for you, but I like the backsplash treatment with the granite. Just another idea. Good luck in your search.

How about meg711's idea with subway tiles and colored inserts. Note the beautiful treatment of herringbone patterned tile over the stove top with the pencil liner around the herringbone pattern. Her cabinets might be close in color to what you are planning.

I was able to locate lisa226 and see her oatmeal tiles, and backsplash (beautiful) and loved it. Personally, and this website is all about personal opinion, I liked the oatmeal better than the subway she changed to. However, a photo is not like seeing the real thing. I can appreciate what she said.

I also appreciate your telling me abt Meg711. The herringbone pattern above the stove is beautiful. Hers is probably more along my tastes. Seeing things visually, is such a help. Thank you so very much!
