Where are you in NE Ohio, I'm about 40 miles south of Canton and I know of a place in North Canton that carries it (of course I'll have to search for the name, lol) and there is also a place in Solon but they don't sell to individuals only fabricators...I'll find the names and numbers for you if those places are near you :)

alabamamommy - yes indeed, I've heard about those moments, and knew it would come to me...I'm just really thankful that it wasn't after I'd picked something else out!

Kinsey06 - thank you! Are you talking about Strata Granite in Canton? They are on my short list from a search here on GW - and I just found them through GW last night, so I will be calling bright and early tomorrow! I've been to Mont in Solon as well, lots of lovely granite, but only 2 slabs of Brazilian ss, which they don't seem to know much about. If you know of anywhere else, let me know, but I'm hoping Strata will be helpful!

Get an estimate from Designer Stone in Port Washington OH. They aren't as far north as you, but may travel that far (they came down here to WV - 2 hours away) 2 guys name is Dan Armstrong and Dan Warner. We picked out our granite in Columbus at Stone Mart. Here is the link to the fabricators:

I talked to Katie at Strata and she seemed very helpful, she actually said that she has SS in her kitchen at home so she is definitely familiar with it. I spoke with her 2 or 3 weeks ago and she said they had 2 slabs of Brazilian SS in stock that had some green veining but that they work with several suppliers and could order more in. I'm not exactly at the buying stage yet so I haven't made the trip to talk to them in person but as I get further in my remodel I will definitely make a trip up there.
As for mountaineergirl's suggestion of Designer Stone in Port Washington, they are actually only 10 minutes away from me, I have talked to them and they aren't overly familiar with SS, or at least the person I talked to wasn't, but they have done it and usually get their stone from Mont in Solon.
Let me know how it goes with Strata if you end up going with them, right now we are seriously considering DIY (my husband and his uncle who is a contractor, so there is experience in countertops just not SS) and getting the stone from M. Tex.

Kinsey06 - I just got off the phone with Rebecca @ Strata, and she said they don't have anything in stock. And once again, I got the "I wouldn't personally go with ss" talk. She said they could get some in, but the whole point is for me to find someone in the area that actually HAS some that I can look at. She's supposed to get back to me on what she can find. We'll see. I wonder if I should have asked for "Katie" instead.....I may try that route.

Mountaineergirl - thanks for the info. Def. worth a call. I've been to Mont a bunch (I don't even fill out paperwork anymore....), and they don't have anything in the location by me that I'm interested in.

Gruellie - awesome photos of the wear - thank you! That really gives me some more solid info on what I'm getting into :) I'm sure if we do find it and get it installed that we'll ding it within the first several hours.....but hey, that's called living!!
