Need interior paint color help, pretty please!

I'm painting my entire first floor and so far the DR is the only room I've painted(BM Louisburg Green). Possible chair rail and panel moulding going up in the next week, versus painting solid green:

Here is a view from the front door/entry, that opens right into the LR with the red couch and the green dining:

Sitting on the red couch, you see the front door/entry and view into the den:

The den is rather traditional, and DH wants a dark cozy color like a library red or a hunter green:

Our white Ikea kitchen (not our doing) connects den to green DR: {{!gwi}}

It's all one big circle, with the kitchen in the middle. DH's rule is that there is NO brown, taupe, or tan on the walls (He's European and doesn't like American neutral decor).

So I'm thinking a yellow might be best for the LR with the red couch, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. And there are so many walls and angles, that I have no idea if I would just want to stick with one color, or use different shades of the same color for depth or interest or whatever.

Please help!

I am in the same predicament and tend to think that it looks more calming to go with variations of complimentary same colors throughout. One of the same color might appear too boring. I would suggest a warm pale green/gray with the burgundy/red couch and then maybe do varying shades of the greens and grays everywhere. I may be doing barren plain, stone harbor, dove wing, white dove in my main areas, but my dining room might be a warm pink and I may do the ceiling in the palest of my grays.

My DH is European as well, and loves yellow, as do I. So we agreed to put a nice yellow in the kitchen and gold in our living room and have enjoyed it, but it's only been a couple of years and I'm ready to change it. Why? because it's hard to relax in. I did cool soothing colors upstairs and find them so much easier to live in. If you already have green in the kitchen why not try something complimentary from the cooler side of the color wheel like a soft blue for your walls and bring the yellow in through accessories?

I LOVE all of your colors except for the rust on the small section of your dining room as it seems to break the room up a bit. I do love rust though. Your colors are very similar to ours (including the rust - ours is a background of our wall unit walls, which is white, and seems to just blend in) and our agents (three that came in to price and 35 brokers that came to the brokers open the other day) loved our colors and didn't want us to change a thing. We have also a weird bright blue/green in our kitchen (was in there when we bought the home and we kept it) that we love as did the agents! It just seems to go with our Saarinen style "modern" kitchen. All of the homes we have been looking at are also that very nice tan/beige/brown as you have and done by decorators. Very nuteral! Just did a condo reno with Saddlebrook Farmhouse. In certain qualities of light it can look peachy. In others, it looks more blonde. I managed the peachy away by changing lighting. With that said, I would not recommend this color unless you like the peachy-brown color. Go with the other one that has less pattern and is more brown. As far as a paint color plan that has the best odds of working together in a range of light sources and appealing to a lot of people, this is my go-to formula. I would never call it "fool-proof" but the odds are good. Ceiling color PPG's Delicate White. Wall color BenM's Revere Pewter or SW's Drift of Mist. Cabinets, doors and trim SW Extra White. If PPG paint is an option, it's good quality and value and they can match other brand's color. PPG's Break Through on cabinets, doors, and trim is a godsend because it dries and cures quickly. PPG's Pure Performance in eggshell is awesome for walls.

Sure. Solid color strategy to use the same color on walls and trim. Walls matte/eggshell, trim semi-gloss or gloss. They will look like different colors because of the different gloss levels but will have a natural harmony. Living with all white walls can be cognitively, visually straining so just make sure you have a decorating plan in place to offset all the white. Good art, good lighting, good window treatments, rugs, etc.

We are remodeling our home and our upstairs is Colonial style and downstairs is Spanish style. We are ready to paint upstairs. Which white/off white interior paint would be best for this style of home? I was looking at Dover White, but I'm not sure if that would work in the bathroom with blue tile and blue vanity? I would also like recommendations for trim color and ceiling color please. Thank you in advance!

Since you already used BM paint check out Vellum, Barley, Chestertown Buff, or Concord Ivory for your LR.

For your den Tate Olive (darker next to Louisburg Green). If you go red try Ellen Kennon's Berry Red. Amazing red!If you cant do that then BM Raspberry Truffle is a good red. If you use red in the den just be sure you carry the red to the other rooms as accents.

I would go for a lighter version of the LR yellow in the kitchen. Like one or two up on the same strip. Or get the paint mixed at 50% lighter.

Just some suggestions. I am not a paint expert. I have a few paint dramas of my own going on. LOL.

Thanks, kyjo! I may do that red in the powder room off the den. I'm leaning more in the greens for the den, so I will definitely check out Tate Olive, along with those colors you suggested for the LR.
