ooohh, I've never thought of painting a hallway blue, those are some pretty inspiration pics Boxerpups, you always find the best pictures.

Boxerpups, thank you so much for all those suggestions! They are beautiful. I am thinking of the Blue Green or the Ballroom Blue. Blue Green is right next to Teresa's Green, a little stronger.

The EK Aqua is wonderful, kjmama. I haven't used EK paint before, and am not sure where to find it, but I will look into it.

I'm not sure but I think it's Farrow & Ball's Blue Ground #210, not Grounded Blue.

#210 is a Tiffany Box Blue -- maybe one of the better Tiffany Box Blues out there. It's clear and crisp and a fresh, snappy blue. The chip is deceiving because it looks kinda of muted, but on four walls it's not.

I have discovered Ellen Kennon's Verdigris. It seems to be a deeper version of the EK Aqua that kjmama used. Of course, I am going by the interactive paint display on their website. I have not seen it in person.

I am also drawn to the Farrow and Ball Blue Green (or Green Blue?), or the slightly lighter version, Teresa's Green.

The Blue Ground is too blue for me, I think.

Now I'm thinking of EK Chestnut, Cognac or Honeysuckle for the living room, and maybe Tuscan Sun for the sunroom (instead of Orangery?) Maybe those colors would go together well?

Looking again, I see that Tuscan Sun is way too bright. And I'm thinking of Camelhair for the living room. I wonder whether it will go with Orangery?

The cool part of EK is that she will talk with you about the colors. You can get a small 1x4 swatch free or pay for a 8x11. We used EK parchment in our kitchen which has a peachy tone but not too overpowering - can't find a picture right now. I really really liked chesnut and almost used it, but we backed out:) Due to some "flow" issues. Happy Paint picking:)

F&B #84 is "Green Blue." Gorgeous color. Blue Ground is quite intense, but it's effective and cheerful in a drab, north-facing room. Teresa's Green is beautiful to me; placed next to Blue Ground it looks green. On it's own, it's an aqua. Not wonderful with fluorescent lighting though.

Thanks, kitchendetective - no fluorescent lighting in the hallway, so I should be OK with those colors. My house has quite good light, especially for a 1931 home, but the hallway does have the potential to be drab. There are two sidelights on either side of the front door; they bring in very little light because the front porch has a roof, and there are lace curtains over the sidelights. The only other natural light is coming in from other rooms. So maybe an intense color is best.

Have you looked at Farrow & Ball Light Blue yet? It really changes depending on the light. It looks greyish/blue in my DR. Baby Blue in my hallway which I am going to repaint because it bugs me. Just a thought.

BM Wickham Gray is pretty too.

Just some thoughts.

I used Teresa's Green in a hallway that leads from the garage to the mudroom bathroom and laundry room. It's a narrow hallway with virtually no natural light, a 10' ceiling, and a built in desk and cupboard area. I gave it a multi-colored crystal fruit chandelier for interest, but the built in light over the desk area is fluorescent and the hue gets a bit sickish under that light. At some point, I will have a back splash (been saving broken pieces of china for a mosaic) there, so I'm just ignoring that small area over the desk for now. So, yes, I think it could be a great color for your purposes. I used Blue Ground in most of the laundry room, which has drab northern light, shaded by trees to boot, and needed a lot of zip, after trying 400,000,000 samples of magnificent, heart-breaking periwinkle and cornflower blues that all turned gray-green in that north-facing room.
