Anyone have experience with Pacific Sales for appliances? (In Bes
Comments (23)To add to your comments, sjhockeyfan325, I had never heard of Pacific Sales until I walked into Best Buy and saw their display. It is sort of odd - I don't recall seeing any advertising, however I don't watch tv much. I'm more apt to watch Netflix. The new display was truly amazing (not what I expect from Best Buy) - they had this huge wall interactive display - if I remember correctly it was for just one of the brands. I would love to see stores like that have an app, where you could scan a barcode on an appliance, and it would appear in a mock up of your kitchen. For kitchen design, you should be able to add a floor plan, input an image of doors/colors/countertop, then place virtual appliances. The Pacific Sales/Best Buy in Dedham also had some more mid-range brands, but those high end ones are so beautiful! By the way, I'm glad to see that others are choosing to mix up their appliances - I really think that is the way to go - different brands really do different types of appliances better. Oh, in case anyone is looking to call up the Pacific Sales/Best Buy (I wish they would shorten that name!) the salesman I was speaking with said to not call the main number - it can take a long time. They have a direct line - I just dug the info out of my purse; (781) 320-1894 (the 0 might be a 6 - sorry, I was in a rush). If anyone visits one of those stores, and wants to call the store later, make sure to get their direct line....See MoreBudget appliances: best for least cash (induction)
Comments (1)BalTra: "Cooktop: induction (would love 5 burners, but 4 are OK!)" LG 30845. We have had one for several years. It works. "Washer / dryer. Also Miele in current home and love laundering clothes that would usuall go to dry cleaners (fine wool) at home. Anything close in quality at fraction of cost?" Washer (only): Samsung 400 series (419 or 448). It's not Miele, but it's not priced like Miele, either. Dryer (only): Whirlpool 6120 (or Kenmore rebadged Whirlpool) dryer, or gas equivalent, if you have a gas connection. Functionally at least as good as a Samsung dryer that "matches" the "styling" of the washer....See MoreDoes anyone have experience buying from IKEA?
Comments (13)Hello... I apologize for not responding sooner. Here it is October 5th already...geez...don't you hate that! Sorry. Well...jyyanks...thanks for sharing your experiences. Sounds like nothing went right for you with your Ikea experience. When I was there, we were looking for a recliner and really weren't expecting to see one at Ikea, but they did have one and so we sat in it. OMG it was awful. It was so uncomfortable. But really I felt you could tell just by looking at their upholstered furniture that it was not only uncomfortable but not well made. So I just crossed that type of purchase off the list of what I would consider getting at that store. I'm sure I learned the same lesson you learned at IKEA, at some other similar store earlier. I also ruled out a lot of the textiles because they are so modernistic and I am not at all. I am more country/traditional, so you can imagine most of their stuff would be a leap for me. I did find their cabinetry did appear to have some features that I found appealing and innovative. But then I realized that all of their tall wardrobes are 93" tall and none of them would fit in our house...lol. So, I guess that isn't leaving a lot for me to find there. lnmca....I am going to read the link you provided and keep reading about what others experiences have been with them. I do like to know the facts and not just go with my first impressions. One last thing though...I found that what appealed to me about the company was what seemed like their attempt to try to go 'green', what with their eco friendly 'green roof' on their building and the attempt to use renewable resources to make their products, and I still do find that to be applauded, but...after seeing the menu in the cafeteria there and finding there are limits to how much information you can get on some products materials, I sense there is some contradiction there and/or a very narrow view of what is 'green'. Just one person's opinion. Thank you both. :-) pm2...See MoreAnyone have or have experience with the Ikea Kivik Sofa?
Comments (12)I have 2 Karlstad couches in leather with Aluminum legs in my family room. They get a lot of use and abuse from couch potatoes, food, cats (with claws) etc. They look brand new even though they are a few years old. I don't have any problems with the back cushions because they are velcroed into place and never move. We had looked at the Kivik in leather but I didn't like how the arms are wider and lower. Personal choice, I felt they weren't in proportion with the couch. Otherwise it was comfortable and our second choice....See Moredeeinohio
