Sorry I'm completely new to this. I'm attaching a couple pics. The couch set is a plum color and the curtains are sage green. Please ignore the boxes and laundry. We've been sick here so haven't had a chance to clean that up. If you need a pic without that stuff, let me know and I'll get you one. Oh and I'm not sure on the size of rug. Not too big. You need 3' behind each chair for "push back" where chair legs don't catch on the edge of the rug, and it doesn't look like you have enough room for a rug. Your table and chairs are really nice and so are your floors, so I would question putting a rug down there. But if you must, and you are on a budget, check Overstock. They have some of the best values for rugs. Houzz does too and I can get you my Trade Discount of an additional 5% if you find something here. Another tip is if you find one you like, get a 2 x 3 size to start with and check it out. You can see true color then and much easier to return if it doesn't work. Then order the size you want. Saves a lot of heavy lifting. I would suggest a cream on cream look unless you want to introduce color.

So many blues in rugs. What you have is a denim blue, so a subtle pattern with that would work best with the bold pattern you have. It's too bad you didn't show us the rest of the room so that we could get a better idea of whether a rug like the one below works with your other furnishings. If you post in the future, please provide all four sides of a room and its adjoining spaces since good design is holistic--everything needs to relate.
