Trane Heat Pump...should I keep looking?
Comments (13)Tigerdunes, You are right, I meant 15 SEER not 9 SEER. The Air Handler suggested is the variable speed 2/4TEE. What is the benefit of having the heat strip staged?? The dealer suggested Trane CleanEffects system. I currently have a Honeywell F100 Media Air Cleaner....How do you think the two compare?? Can you tell me more about the 803 Stat vs the 800...from what I have been able to find the only difference is the humidity sensor and the dehumidification control. Is that more for the AC portion?? Never get too warm here on the Oregon Coast. NeOhioHeatpump, The PTCS has to do with performing CheckMe! analysis commissioning and complete duct sealing, per Energy Trust guidelines. Kind of a combination of heat pump optimization, plus duct testing and sealing. Its required for some of the Energy Trust of Oregon's Rebates....See MoreHoliday Cabinets vs. Kemper Choice
Comments (7)Diamond IS Kemper IS Thomasville. They are the same exact cabinets. Only the names change depending on which store you are in. If you found Kemper to be more expensive, then look at another company carrying it. It should always be cheaper than the box store equivalents as dealers don't have the higher markups of box stores. Yes, I said higher markups for box stores. They often don't use anyone who knows anything about kitchen design in that position, and the result is more mistakes that they have to deal with. So, they negotiate a better return policy with the company, but the customer pays for it with higher margins. If you have a ProSource anywhere near you, check them out as they are a wholesale to the trade. (They have a "house" account if you aren't a member.) Their margins are MUCH lower than the box stores and they will have the Kemper/Diamond labeled versions of what you are looking at. That's the company that I'm now working for and designing the new showroom, and it's been pretty great as to how little the markups actually are compared to some that I had dealt with in the past. Not all ProSources have added cabinets, but if you are in a major city, it's worth your time for flooring as well if you need that for your project....See MoreShould I keep these chairs??
Comments (26)Robot, thanks so much for that image! I wish I could transplant that exact chair into the room!! I am thinking a solid also. When I try stripes or patterns with some fabrics I already have, it somehow reads as being too busy. There is already a lot going on in the room and I want the chairs to complement the other elements. I LOVE that pillow. When I tried pillows on mine, though, they cover up all of the caning as the sides of these chairs are open. I'll keep that for inspiration though; maybe a similar pillow could go on the couch. Hi loribee!! Your home is so lovely and inviting; must be wonderful over the Holidays :)...See MoreShould I keep the fireplace?
Comments (22)Thanks all for the replies. I guess the hubs has final say and he wants to keep it. I usually get to make all the decisions regarding decor and he gets to fund it. Since it is staying, I figure a seating area would fit the bill. Comfy chair, ottoman and a small table with a lamp. Or put the bar console next to the fp....See MoreNeed_Ideas
