Countertops were installed this week. They look beautiful. I am feeling intimidated by them though. They are such a bold statement that I don't know where to start with a backsplash. I do like linear subways, like 2x6 or 2x8 and random combos of the both. Should I go with a solid color? Texture? Glass? Feeling overwhelmed. The overall style I am aiming for in Euro-lodge. Yes, I just made that up. Let me explain. I love a squeak of rustic old world paired with modern. Warm but clean lines. I have a lodge style home. Lots of woodwork and cathedral ceilings, beadboard, even a buckmount over the fireplace. I will be painting the kitchen beadboard and crown taupe while the walls will be a lighter stone shade. Still choosing. Oh, and my faucet is brushed nickle bridge style (if that's any help) .
