Has anyone seen a table like this?

I love this table, but it is too large (in diameter) for my space. I need something around 18" diam., 20" max., and about 24" high. I have seen similar tables that have brass instead of this black metal, but I like the black. Or, a dark wood would also work. But I'm having trouble finding the right size! Any ideas? I want something with similar simple lines, nothing fancy. Thanks!

Kateskouros - give a look to Brass Light Gallery which I've linked below. It's best to download two of their catalogs called "Prairie Arts Collection" and "Classic Exteriors Collection", cause the individual pics on their website are not that extensive, but the catalogs picture everything. Brass Light Gallery has tons of finishes to choose from (not all shown on the website). And they have all kinds of glass (e.g. seeded, frosted, opaque, clear, and many more) which may help with the glare issue noted above by Shanghaimom. You can even choose the overlay (overlay being the metal pieces you've removed in your "simpler" version of your lantern pic above). You will see in Brass Light's Prairie Arts Collection catalog how you can opt for Prairie Overlay, Foursquare Overlay, MacIntosh Overlay or No Overlay. I myself liked the "Prairie Sunrise Fixtures" in the Exteriors Catalog, and in their Prairie Arts Catalog I like the Studio Lantern (more rectangular than you are looking for, but in their pic, it looks awesome if you have high ceilings), and the Chicago Lantern. Brass Light Gallery's quality is really excellent, so is their customer service. I have three of their sconces, and I never get tired of looking at their beauty. Has anyone ever seen a desk or any kind of furniture like this?

It is a desk which may have been brought home from Asia after WWII. It has what appears to be braided stick rattan legs as well as the foot rest/brace at the bottom and the sides with a dark mahogany top. I have searched for hours for anything like it in the USA and Asia and Japan, but there's nothing out there. I sure would like to find some history about it. I believe my great uncle brought to the states to give to his parents, my great-grandparents, all long deceased.

If it is a must have, you could look into plating. I had some vintage sconces and other hardware that had had plated in the finish I wanted.

Les, you're reading my mind -- I have the R&B catalog sitting here already earmarked on those pages! They are possibilities, but I like the idea of the shelves on the PB table...
