Oh, sorry, piasano, just saw this. They're tied to a curtain rod at the top, out of the shot. They were tied in bows, which I thought made a really fussy look, so I framed the shot not to show them. I would have liked them better if they'd just stitched a loop and strung them on the rod.

There's an online blog and forum called Unclutterer.com. One of the weekly features is an "office" space picture--and they define office as anyplace you work, not just on your computer, but in your kitchen if you are a chef, a woodworking studio if that's your thing, sewing, whatever it is. Unclutterer has a place on Flickr with all the submitted photos, so you should check it out. You could just scroll the general pages there, off this link that you see at the bottom, or plug in "sewing" to search specifically for that. Some very good ideas among them! Thank you! Yes, it does feel soooo much more peaceful in there. I've gone in a few times since then and just sat and smiled as I looked around. :) LOL Can you tell I am easily entertained? I'm working on the basement now. Fortunately it wasn't really horrific, but it was the typical basement storage dumping ground. I took before pictures and I think it will be quite inspiring when it is done. At the rate I am going, it may end up taking less time than my office took. Paper just takes so dang long to go through! Fortunately the basement is mostly boxes and many of them are "whole" boxes (like boxes of canning jars for instance) that don't need to be gone through individually. My christmas and craft stuff will take longer to go through, but I am persevering and making great progress! When I am done, I'll post before and after pictures. The basement isn't finished, so neither set of pics will be particularly pretty, but I'm going for organized here. I'm actually ahead of schedule, since this was the project I had designated for February.

dirtymartini...did you paint your house yet? Have you changed your mind about the bonefish colors? I'm currently in a home I'd have never chosen but I'm determined to bloom where I'm planted. It's very contemporary in style and is imposing on the lot. The roof is NOT neutral...it's that orangey-brown shingle color and I've tried to figure out exterior colors for over a year...and then...your post! I think I have a touch more brown in my shingles than in your roof...my roof color is more along the lines of the wood trim on the bonefish example you posted above and not as deep as the awning...but I still think the colors may work. I'd love to see your home finished. Please keep us posted.
