I grabbed some purple chips that I thought were pretty at work, but in my dull light at home, I'm having doubts...you'll just have to see what they look like in your lighting! I'm usually over on the building a home forum and stopped by to see all the pretties. I'm so glad I did! I'm getting my very own "play room" at the new house and desperately need some inspiration. :o) I already packed up most of the current sewing room, so it looks a little bare in here. Please ignore the packing boxes stashed under the table and the chairs. Sorry! The shelves above the table are two brackets with a regular shelf on top. I put the little plastic pieces for curtain rods inside and inserted a wooden dowel. These have worked great for hanging the fabrics and trims for upcoming projects. The shelves on top make nice spaces for displaying goodies...which I have already packed. LOL Under the table there are usually clear rolling totes with 3 drawers each. I keep my things for handwork in them. They are great for taking in the other room so I can watch TV while stitching. :o) The cutting table folds and is tucked out of the way against the wall. On the opposite wall there is a bank of cabinets for keeping fabrics and trims. The framed fabric above the shelf was great for to-do lists and notes on projects.

Plan on living in house 10 plus years. I use laptop with monitor and two printers for general household, genealogy, and art work/crafts/design. Have a separate bedroom space for sewing design studio.

I love your plan-- your work space should be inspiring and motivational. If a tropical design and sunny colors will make you feel ready to face the day no matter the weather and temps, i say go for it! I love pale pink-- but do i remember from past wardrobe posts that blues/greens are more flattering for you than pastels? I am a firm believer that our personal rooms should be in colors that compliment us-- especially if the walls will be a backdrop to your video meetings. I may not be remembering correctly and pink may be perfect-- but whatever you choose, make sure it looks great behind your face! I really like the fabric for your daybed. I don't find a sterile or traditional office space to be all that conducive to great ideas or work. You want to keep it neat and professional but that doesn't discount being creative and personal.
