I really like SW Bold Brick. Its a nice warm red. You might also like SW Flower Pot.

Martha Stewart's Brick....Hearth ("..." are mine :)) at Lowe's is a wonderful color I've found--and I just wrote about it on thread where other people mentioned other reds they like too.

Just happened on BM's "Tucson Red" (one of their Winter 2007 colors)- which I do believe is going to be the new color for my now extremely blah den.

I just painted my front door red cayenne. Kind of a dusky orange/red color. On the second coat and need to do one more. It is a wonderful color. I have my home painted a gray/green color called streambed and the trim is a charcoal gray. Can post a photo tomorrow if anyone is interested. I just love this color.

I don't have any red in my current house but Ralph Lauren had some great reds. They are at Home Depot. I actually don't like their paint so I take the chip and get it color matched at benjamin Moore or MAB

Springville, please post a photo of your home. It sounds so much like a combo I am trying to finalize for the exterior of our home. We installed a charcoal gray roof earlier this summer, and I plan to paint a gray/green in the spring.

The paint chip I posted is not the same color as my front door. I just posted that as an example of what my front door looks like.

Sorry it took me so long to post. My batteries were dead and then I was tied up with other stuff. Here is the front of my single level ranch style house. The front door is under a cover, so a brighter color was needed otherwise the door just vanished. I still have to put a third coat on the front door, but it has been too cold to paint - since I have to leave the front door open till the paint is completely dry. Perhaps next week. The house is painted streambed and the front door is red cayenne. The maple tree leaves matched the front door till they all fell. I originally got the color codes as Walmart chips for a house we lived in many years ago. I love the streambed and red cayenne colors. I can post the color codes if you like. I wish the trim was a slightly different color, but I don't really want to paint all the trim over again at this time. The trim color was chosen by the previous owner.

We just painted an accent wall with Eddie Bauer Paprika (EB27-1) from Lowe's. It was something we ran out and grabbed, because we hadn't planned on painting. (We took down the PO's cheap-o shelves on L O N G metal brackets and found that they had painted the walls . . . AROUND the brackets. With no leftover paint, we had to do something).

It is dark, but for an accent wall it works great. We've got my Brush New Art Vellum pottery displayed against it on white floating Ikea shelves and it all worked out pretty well.

Favorite terracotta-Georgian Brick or one down on the chip-Audoban Russet.
Favorite Red-Raspberry Truffle-the perfect shade of red for my house/lighting!

I'm also debating reds and terracotta, we have a very small golden oak kitchen, with oil rubbed bronze accents, and black shades of formica, any suggestions, do you like the rust color audoban russet, or the rusty red/brown similar to Georgian brick shades better?? I seem to like both. I've used green ( old salem gray) and a tan similar to SW macadamia in the other rooms. There will be only one full wall to paint , and then the soffets and in between cabinets. I've considered green between cabinets and on soffets, and then the rusty wall...then I confuse myself thinking, maybe not two colors in such a small room??? I painted the accent wall, one coat of old salem gray for now, but I'm not loving it in the kitchen. Maybe I can post pics.

Wow, I painted several reds and terra cottas on the kitchen walls to test and it's going to be a huge change from khaki LOL!!! I'm hoping it doesn't darken the kitchen too much. I want the color in there but now I'm getting scared! I initially loved BM Spanish Red but now I'm thinking it might be too bright... BM Georgian Brick is gorgeous! Definitely a true terra cotta; not a whole lot of red in it, and I think I want a bit more red than brown. SW Fireweed is really pretty but very dark. I still need to test SW Flower Pot and SW Bold Brick though. Ugh how am I ever going to pick just one LOL?!

And my husband broke our digital camera so I can't post pics! Grrrrrr. I'm going to borrow my neighbor's camera tomorrow so I can share my test pics and get some votes. =)

BM Audubon Brick my second favorite.

Most favorite, BM Sienna Clay, a bit lighter and softer than the brick.

Have samples of both up on some trim right now. Both make me happy, just to look at them.

Overnight I've contemplated, now I'm thinking BM Tucson Red 1300, which is advertised on Pottery Barns website for Winter 2007 paint colors.
Do you like this color??? I could possibly be painting today if I make a decision!!

Sewwhatsnew - I tested Tucson Red in my kitchen and it's way too bright in my lighting. I have a lot of wall space and it's open to the living room so it would be overpowering. However, I am seriously considering that color for my bathroom. Someone on here posted a powder room they did with flat and satin horizontal stripes in Tucson Red, and it was gorgeous! I have a small half bath so that color would really brighten it up. You can get a small 2-oz sample jar at BM to test it on your walls before you commit. =)

I painted...but not reds or terra cotta color, I choose BM Crownsville Gray, a deep army green color which blended nice with Old Salem Gray, the green color I used in living and dining room. I decided to keep the accent colors rust or red, my mind thought 60/30/10, plus all 3 rooms are slighty visable.
Roman shade fabric will be a blend of red and green colors.{{!gwi}}

It feels so good to be movin' on, my next challenge is choosing a brown paint choice for the fireplace.
