Window treatments for a NON window treatment type girl
Comments (14)We are not window treatment people either, but have started to add some as we've reno'd/decorated a few of the rooms in our house; two bathrooms and our office. They really do help to finish off a room. That said, we're not covering our kitchen bow window, or the DR bow window, though I might consider something for the DR window at some point--just for the window panes themselves, not to cover the whole bow-unit. We used Hunter Douglas' Designer Screen Shades in the Roman Shade style (ours are mounted inside the frames becuase of our window style/frame depth). The shades are very clean-lined and range in sheerness. With the sheerer weaves/fabrics, you can see outside with them down and they allow a lot of light in....See MoreWindow treatments for large windows...on a budget
Comments (4)Fabric Roman shades would be great. I found the best prices at blindsgalore - we just got new shades from them in December for our bedroom and were very pleased. Blindsgalore.com I just got on the website and priced 74" wide x 42" long (just a guess); with their current 33% sale going on, that size priced out at ~ $175. Lots of colors/patterns/plain....See MoreWhat is the right window treatment for this window? Help!
Comments (24)@Melndo The walls are Benjamin Moore Rockport Gray: https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/color-overview/find-your-color/color/HC-105/rockport-gray?color=HC-105 Our window is north facing as well. There is a large Japanese maple near the window so we don't get a ton of light there. I have the floor lamps, two table lamps and a light on the ceiling that isn't in the picture to make sure the room gets enough light. We actually use this room as a music room. There is a piano on the wall that isn't in the picture. Hope this helps! Glad you like it. :)...See MoreWhat type of window treatments would you put on these three windows?
Comments (28)I would need to soften and warm the room with panels, especially with your color/furniture choices. One rod can work and for your windows I think it makes sense due to how close they are. Hanging it up to the ceiling just looks silly. Historic homes have window casings that are worth celebrating and showing off. Modern homes, not so much, and you have none. The spaces between your windows are small enough I hope you would be hanging only stationary panels in between each window. It makes no visual sense to put decor under a curtain rod that's purpose is to give the illusion of one large window. That still leaves you finding a shade to compliment for light blocking....See Moreroguevalley
