What type of window treatment would you do for this doorwall?
Comments (6)You have a lovely view and I think your idea of panels sounds great if you want to leave all that wonderful light. I'm Nana to two little ones and had two daughters--so I've seen this suggestion actually work---at least for food. We had the rule that you only eat sitting down at the table, bar, or highchair. Then hands were cleaned immediately after eating before they're allowed to wander through the house. So--no food gets on curtains. Now, :~) that doesn't take care of teething slobbery fingers on them or the windows, but it does cut down on the big stuff. And when they're helping you "cook", keep a damp cloth beside you so that when they've sampled and get down, you can wipe before they wander. Good luck and enjoy your inviting home!...See MoreWindow treatment ideas for three windows?
Comments (2)You have lots of options with a triple window. You can mount roller shades for black out purposes by mounting them to the top of the window frame on the inside as you probably don't have sides on the middle window. You can do roman shades the same way and get a single valance across all 3 to make it look more united. You can do woven wood blinds the same way. You can also do bottoms up/top down shades like duettes. If you instead choose to mount outside the window frame, you can do drapes on rings or better on a traverse rod that will close and open easily. You could also get vertical gliding blinds or drapes...check out what hunter douglas has to offer. These are more modern and neater than vertical blinds. You could also do a combo, for example woven wood blinds with drapery panels in between to hide the breaks in the blinds, but that will cover more of the window. ...and yes, you can get woven woods and romans lined with black out material....See MoreWhat type/style window treatment for this small window.
Comments (45)Oakley - That is something I thought of a few months back, but needed to see the wooden valance gone. Where would you install the rod? I like the look of the tall ones. I don't think I can make that fit that the rod isn't running over the moulding. This one is ok. This looks like skimpy napkins to me. I don't think my window is wide enough. Inside measures 27.75"W x 34.5"H. With trim is 33"W x 37.25" H to sill. You said about less fluff. I know it will be fake, but I figured there should be some fullness so it doesn't look unrealistic. Tina - Did you mean to attach something? Which one are you talking about? Annie - Thanks for the photos. They look nice. Tension rod definitely seems like the easiest thing for an inside mount. Ratherbesewing - That looks nice. Good job around the trim. Tannatonk - Thanks! That's a great idea. I'd like to let the max amount of light I can get away with so I probably wouldn't lower a shade in this case. Mtnrd & Annie - I know, the window is quite small and an inside mount means not much fabric. I don't know that I mind a header, but can't find a photo of a roman with one. Instead of an inside mount, I could keep the hardware where it's currently located. That's white wall, not trim, showing in the photo I posted at the beginning of the thread. I think I need to buy a tension rod and do some mock ups....See MoreFunky Window Placement - what type of window treatment will work?
Comments (12)Originally I thought Roman shades, but when I read "lightweight, whimsical sheers", I thought of Urban Outfitters, https://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shop/draped-shade-curtain?category=window-curtains-panels&color=004 and because all of their curtains are on the more whimsical side, I think you could pick any to use with a tension rod, because you don't have room for proper curtain rods, https://www.urbanoutfitters.com/window-curtains-panels...See MoreDyan Weis
