Do you NEED drapery? What if you just left the windows as-is and hung an amazing piece of artwork in between the windows?

If you do need drapery (to keep the creepers from looking in at your dance studio), I totally understand. I feel you on the whole window sill issue because my cottage has the EXACT same problem. So frustrating! I think you can get some extended drapery hangers that they typically use when you are hanging layered drapes. Then just hang two the sheer drapes, both in the middle section and then they pull toward the window, respectively.

Roman shades are also an option, but aren't as whimsical.

I wish I didn't need any window treatments because I love these oversized windows and all the light, but I live in the city, and this is the ground floor. The bottom of the windows is literally not even 2 feet from the ground. There is a lot of foot traffic at night, and I feel creeped out at dark - plus added privacy is nice at times when I want to work in my PJs. :) I thought something sheer would block out details, but let in light. I do have an art piece planned for the center. Thanks so much, Rebecca!

I love this look, plus the second layer of drapery adds a bit more privacy. You might want to use a sheer that is a bit less sheer than this one. The shade behind the front drape can stop at the point where your wall projects.

How about Silhouette shades? You can pick the amount of light and privacy you need. They come in different colors and textures. I think shades would look much better in your space than curtains.

Roman shades are a good inexpensive option. You can also do one large window treatment with pull down shades over each window and a curtain on each side that extend to the corners and a wide valance across the entire section. This would pull the wall together. Add some artwork to the wall and done.

something you dont want to hear.... are your windows safety glass? you dont want any dancers to go through non-safety glass.

The windows are not in the correct position for draperies. I would go with shades. If you want more of the soft drapery look, go with Roman shades.

I agree with the above post about doing top-down/bottom-up since you are on the ground floor. You can still let light in, but maintain your privacy. This option is available on Roman shades.

If office space, I like the idea of the double layer of sheers.

Originally I thought Roman shades, but when I read "lightweight, whimsical sheers", I thought of Urban Outfitters,
