I am thinking about classic cream for the rest of my house - how blah - my DH doesn't like color at all! He likes white walls. I am hoping that the classic cream will be a neutral with SOME color so it sets off the white molding.
I just ordered a quilt from RH for my master bedroom - finally took the plunge. I debated over what color I wanted in there and after ordering I am still not sure. I need curtains and more furniture!

This is BM Burnt Peanut Red in our one and only bathroom. We live in a one bedroom apartment and the bathroom is very tiny with no window. My husband was very skeptical when I said I was going to paint it red, but he really liked it once he saw it done.

The plastic wall tile and cheap sink with ridiculous utility faucet (!) came with the place when we bought it. Now that we've made it through a kitchen renovation we're starting to think about dealing with the bath. We definitely want to keep the red though!

This red paint was part of the "quick fix" right after we moved in. We were just going to paint the walls and hang up a medicine cabinet for more storage. But when we pulled off the glued on wall mirror, there was a hole in the wall--apparently a recessed medicine cabinet used to be there. That was the only time I've ever been happy to find a hole in my walls! We enlarged the hole just a bit for a new medicine cabinet, put in a new light fixture and painted.

I wish I could get a better picture for you--go for the red, you'll love it!

I think red is probably fine in a bathroom. I just wouldn't put it all over the walls in a large room, or in a bedroom (again). Years ago I painted three walls of my bedroom red, and anchored it with a brown/black grass cloth on the fourth wall. I loved it.

Okay, I confess, I thought it might make DH a little more passionate. Well, it did, but not in the way I'd hoped. It put him in the mood to fight and argue! So I painted the walls baby blue and he calmed down. lol!

I still love red as an accent color. But I haven't painted a wall red since.

Oh, yes before I painted my Master bath red I had painted the walls in the bedroom red. The anxiety level increased and not in a good way. I couldn't even fall asleep...I really do believe in the psychology of color now.

After visting a redone home (castle) in our historic district that was featured in Architecture Digest, Southern Accents and also featured on Joe Rugerrio, loving the owner's red master bedroom and green dining room (probably apple green), I laterread that green suppresses the appetite and red increases anger. I just wonder what those hungry people in that house were like at bedtime. ;-)

Anyway, the house was gorgeous, and I never thought about her choices. She had spent 2 years off and on with her designer in France choosing furnishings, lighting, etc., for the house while the architects and contractors were working on the remodel. Home was beautiful with mostly white kitchen and white marble. And then there was that hungry dining room and angry bedroom. (LOL).

I doubt I will paint it myself but will wait until Dec to paint the rest of the house after I decide what neutral we want to go with.

Oh another question. If I have a white sink/toilet and chrome sink handles and towel bar can I still go with goldish accessories?

Of course, you can use gold accents. No one ever thought about that until the recent past few years and now. It has and always will be done. Remember the brass fixtures of the 80s and how they became passe after time. So will all the other colors because chrome is such a great surface for a bathroom and people have never felt they had to decorate "around it" until recently. Don't feel insecure, do it with aplomb and it will be beautiful.

Relatives with new construction have a very small powder room off their family room and it is a very rich deep red, white ceiling, white trim/door, and it's a very stunning little bathroom. (Toilet and sink are white, fixtures are ORB.) Nearby hall/kitchen walls are a warm golden tan. I say go for it!

We have a small full bath on our main floor painted in Laura Ashley's Summer Pudding (Valspar from Lowe's). The room is without windows, but I love the rooms intense color, just the same.
