Easy and free holiday decorating

I wanted to share a few photos of the wreaths and swags I've made the last few days for holiday decorating. They are very rustic, which is the look I was going for.

The wreaths are made with cheap shirt hangers from the drycleaner bent into a rough circle. I then took clippings from my yard and bent them around the hanger. Just choose flexible shrubs with small stems.

The swags are made with a block of florist foam that I've randomly stuck more cuttings into. I laid a piece of Saran wrap in the window frame and them place the finished swag over it. They should last til Christmas if I remember to water them! I took another clothes hanger, unbent it and used it to secure the swag by wrapping it around the shutter hinges and pulling tight in front of the swag.

Anyway, this was all done with things I had lying around the house!! They can be as fancy or simple as you'd like.
