Rockybird: With the tub beyond the shower, you would have to walk through water to get to the tub, if someone had taken a shower recently. It takes a fair amount of time for the shower floor to dry. You didn't post any dimensions, but this total space looks quite large. I think Robotropolis has a better solution for the WC, but I personally would flip everything else, putting the whole bathroom at the end, separating the tub and shower. By putting the closet where the shower/tub currently is, you could put hang-up and storage on each side. With a "U" closet, it can be awkward getting to clothes that are in the corners. You could put a linen closet and/or other storage in the space across, where the sinks are to be moved from, but only the width of the closet. Put a door into the MB. Leave the WC on the right where Robotropolis put it , but put the toilet on the opposite wall and the entry at the other end. That way, you have a wall for the bathroom door to open against. Or, put in a pocket door. Put the sinks cabinet across from the WC on the left wall. Put the shower the whole length of the right wall , from the WC to the bottom wall. Then, put in a tub between the shower and the left wall. It doesn't appear that you have any windows, so they wouldn't have to be accounted for. You sound like a kindred spirit - I'm going through the same exercise. I do everything except the plumbing, but finding the right cabinets to stay out of divorce court is proving to be the greatest challenge. :) I'm just below the NH border in Essex county, so we've probably looked at a lot of the same resources - plus I just finished putting in a complete new kitchen in my son's condo in JP. I used RTA cabinets from domaincabinetsdirect.com for him, but I'm looking for an upgrade for my own kitchen. You might want to look at an inexpensive design program called Plan3D - let's you do reasonably accurate layouts with a minimum of learning curve and pain. I'm looking at Barker and Scherr as possible options for RTA cabinets, and iEuro, Cabico, and Dynasty for manufactured lines. The jury is still out. I will tell you that it's going to be really tough to find durable boxes and doors with attractive cherry veneer at the price point your looking for. If you have the time or interest perhaps we can collaborate.

I dunno about everyone else, but even here in the sticks, a medium to large ''master'' is around 150sf+. It has at least a 72"" double vanity, premium stone top, and additional linen storage. 4-10K in cabinets, material and labor. Stone top 2-6K. The shower is a minimum 36"x42" with at least a frameless glass door. 4-10K, material and labor. More often, the shower is larger, with a frameless glass enclosure involving one or more full glass walls, benches, and steam. 10-20K, material and labor. The tub is either a freestanding pedestal tub, or an undermount jetted or air tub with the deck either a stone slab or a high grade of porcelain tile. 5-15K, material and labor. The tile in the rest of the bath is also a good porcelain, glass, or natural stone. $5sf material costs would be low for that allowance, and $15 material and labor would be closer to the mark. Heated floors are pretty much a given in most cooler climates. That's ''average mid grade''.. It's trickled down from the upper end Houzz addicted. Almost everyone ''expects'' frameless glass, but get sticker shock when they get the quote. Same with the giant curbless showers. Everyone thinks that they are entitled to have that in their baths, not realizing that 60K Houzz baths aren't really middle America. The average middle America master bath isn't large, or over 150sf. More like under 100. There's a small 36x36 shower and jetted tub, all using cultured marble. The vanity is either a large single, or the smallest double, with not enough counter space. The floors are a basic inexpensive ceramic tile, with no fancy patterns or heating under them. Below average middle America is lucky to even have a dedicated bath attached to the ''master'' bedroom. Many homes still don't have that feature if they are older than around 1970. And most homes in America are. They have your standard 5x8 bath with a single tub/shower, single vanity, and plain white tiled walls and floors. If you're lucky. Some aren't lucky and have baby poo colored tile or plastic walls and lots of mold. First world issues.
