Remove bar/credenza for more ma. bath room?

The master bath of my mcm home is in dire need of a remodel and is barely functional as is. The space is awkward to work with. There is a space with plumbing for a built-in bar (see yellow dresser below) which is on a shared wall with the ma bath. I was going to extend it to make an 8 ft. built-in bar/credenza (floating?) with a wine fridge, sink, etc. I thought it would look really cool.

Well, the architect suggested removing the bar altogether in order to grab more space for the ma. ba.. He said that we could build a smaller custom bar/cred. that would sit IN FRONT of the wall, like a piece of furniture with a sink. I just dont know if I like the idea. Does anyone have any opinions? Built-in bars seem so mcm and I thought it might be nice to have as the kitchen is not gigantic (although I might be adding a scullery).

The question: do I sacrifice the bar for more ma. closet/ba space?

Thanks for any ideas.

The built-in credenza will stretch to the corner by the chair:
