Well I think it looks very pretty. I do see slight pink undertones but to me a tan is going to have some sort of undertone, pink, yellow, green...and yours looks really pretty in that room! It goes great with your orb faucets, your mirror, your prints, and contrasts good with the white trim. How long has it been painted? I know it's said a million times on here but it's so true sometimes...live with it a couple weeks and see if you still don't like it.

I really like it. I do see slight pink undertones. It reminds me of a mocha color though.

Laurie: You're too funny. I'm a huge fan of BM Yorkshire Tan myself. I was trying to break away from my usual greenish/gold/tan colors and look where it got me?!? I'm so bummed, I really thought this was the COLOR. I don't have the heart to tell my painter (he's a friend of the family). I'll wait until after Christmas. I have enough of these colors to paint my PR without buying more paint. What's your vote?

The last three colors were ordered by a painter I hired 3 years ago. I couldn't believe he brought the wrong color 3 days in a row.

pluckymama: This color can't stay!! It's pretty but too pink for me. Do you know of any good browns? My kitchen is getting painted sag harbor gray this Tuesday. I'm not as confident with my color choice after my pinkish/tan PR.

Out of the ones you have listed, I would use the Northampton Putty.

I like the Jamesboro gold and the Northampton Putty from the ones you listed. Two very nice browns are Sherwin Williams Hopsack and Portabello. I saw them in a model home and made a mental note of them for the future if I ever painted a room brown. I'm like you if it has a pink undertone I'm not happy. I wouldn't worry about your choice of the Sag Harbor Gray as the undertones are more in keeping w/the rest of your house. BTW, I'm going to look at Minas soapstone tomorrow. Wish me luck, the fabricator comes Friday :o

Laurie: Northampton putty looks awesome in my bedroom. I wanted something more brown but maybe I shouldn't mess with a good thing. I'll paint a huge sample board and tape it up in my PR and post pics for your opinion.

pluckymama: I'll paint a huge sample board of jamesboro gold along with northampton putty and post a picture for votes. I went on the easyrgb website to convert SW Hopsack & Portabello to BM colors since I don't have a SW fandeck. SW Hopsack converted to these BM colors: Jamesboro Gold, Jackson Tan and Woodstock Tan. SW Portabello converted to BM Davenport Tan, Jamesboro Gold and Kingsport Gray. Isn't it ironic that both colors when converted to BM gave Jamesboro Gold as a close match. Maybe it's a sign?!? I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I won't be disapointed with Sag Harbor Gray for my kitchen. I love my Minas soapstone! I purchased a mineral oil beeswax from William Sonoma to oil my soapstone. It takes a bit more elbow grease but last twice as long as plain mineral oil. It's also not as messy. Good luck and keep me posted.

I just want to say that I can't figure out why you feel the need to change the color. I'm not even a pink-undertone person, and I still think it's *fabulous*, brings out beautiful notes in the fixtures and floor...it's such a sophisticated change from the golds (not that I don't like golds, but they're more common--this one is more assured and interesting, IMO). I'm very happy for you if there aren't more pressing problems you can address than repainting this beautiful room :)

flyleft: Good luck on trying to figure me out. My DH and kids gave up years ago. I wish I could embrace the pink undertones but I'm just to anal to see past it. It is a fabulous looking PR and you're right about a nice change from the gold colors. Whatever I decide to do will have to wait until after Christmas so maybe by then I'll have embraced the pink undertones.

I have a lot more pressing problems then the color of this room but it's a nice distration from the more pressing problems of everyday life. Trying to figure out a color for this PR is very lighthearted and I like the fact that it's a do over with paint. If only life gave you do overs.

I completely understand the "displacement" effect of finding home decorating issues to obsess over, like cats suddenly needing to groom :)

Hope the holidays are a good distraction as well, and I have to say, DD has "Return of the Jedi" on, and I'm tempted to say "You Must Surrender to the Pink Side", but I won't :)

If the rest of your house is golds... the only concern would be whether the color goes with whatever is outside the room, as you look in (or out).

flyleft: I loved (still do) watching all the Star Wars movies. I'll continue to repeat Darth Flyleft Vader's mantra daily "you must surrender to the pink side", heck if works I can move on to "You must exercise daily".LOL

bigdoglover: It does kind of look like hot cocoa, unfortunately hot cocoa is right up there with coffee and tea for me "yuck". I don't like any hot and/or warm drinks. The colors that you see on the outside of the PR are BM Yorkshire Tan and a color similar to BM Dunmore Cream. Those two colors have quite a bit of green undertones so I'm definitely not used to pink undertones.
