Pics of BM Cork, esp. with Desert Tan?

Does anyone have photos of BM Cork "in action" ? I can't find anything on the "Favorite Yellows and Golds" thread, or elsewhere.

I'm going to be repainting my very open multi-level LR/DR. Not much natural light -- east-facing bay window in LR, two permanently-open kitchen doors into DR. Flooring is quite dark oak, with lots & lots of oak railing, and lots of door & crown moldings & chair rails that will stay some shade of white.

I'm considering BM Cork on the walls of the LR and below the chair rail in the DR. BM Desert Tan would go above the DR chair rail and on another free-standing DR wall. I've painted two big sheets of foamcore board with these and some other colors. I worry that the Desert Tan is too light and un-cozy, but will the Cork be too intense in large doses??

Wood furniture, fyi, is medium-toned browns (fruitwood and antique cherry). Rugs are russet with golds/tans in LR and gold/tan with russet in DR. Upholstered furniture isn't bought yet, but will probably be brown leather sofa and two gold armchairs (upholstered to blend into walls).

I looked all over the site and I can't find any pictures either of BM Cork. I wanted to help but I guess we will have to wait until someone has this color has time to post. I am sure lots of us want to help you but just can't find a picture with this color in it.

Our study is painted with BM Cork. It is definitely a deep, saturated color. The study is on the north side of the house, so it doesn't have a lot of natural light. I like it in that room, but it's deeper than I expected. You might be happier asking the paint store to split the difference between Cork and Desert Tan. I just painted our downstairs hallway in Light Khaki (2148-40). It is a beautiful warm tan with some green in it. I really like it, because it doesn't have any orangey tones in it, like Cork and Golden Straw (another color I have in other places in my house).

I don't know if you're tied to BM but SW Blonde and SW Restrained Gold are very nice colors. BM Golden Straw and BM Golden Tan are also nice.

i too am struggling to find a tan color for the foyer and upper hallways of a house we're moving to... i want to use SW and am leaning towards Row House Tan, but i keep thinking it isn't quite clear/sharp enough or something... i want it to be quite light, and not too yellow or green or pink or orange... thought macadamia or nomadic desert might work, but they don't look quite right either in that house... :(

Patty cakes, Do you think that med. grey small lumbar pillows on the leather chairs would get 'lost'? I saw 2 on sale at JCP yesterday and almost got them but then thought that they might be too dark. IKEA has some nice charcoal throws but I really think that I'd like to try my hand at sewing a few. I get what you mean about not adding a 'color' to the rm. and I agree. I have checked out grey curtains but I have this weird fanatical thing about all of my curtains matching if they can be seen from another rm.! Will check out Parma's sexy rm! Jacy - That's exactly how RP looks w/ my white trim! I have a sickness you know. A paint sickness. I admit that I have a sample of PD. In my house it got a bit too purpley for me. There's an excellent episode of Find Your Style where they did a rm. in Hot Spring Stones (1 up from PD) and the accent wall PD. The accent colors were Silver Sage. It was beautiful! I saved that episode for a very longtime. There was also a woman who used to post here who did her bedroom exactly the way your thinking. Her sign on was Girlwithaspirin. Maybe you can do a google search and a pic will come up somewhere. Caroleoh - Yep - that's the rm. that was BT! It's such a small room that there are only so many angles that I can get pics of. I highly recommend BT!!!! Truly if I'd hadn't begun painting the rest of my downstairs such neutral but rich colors I would never have parted ways w/ BT but I just felt that it wasn't working w/ the whole overall concept that I was going w/ and that I really, really like alot. I can't wait to post finished pics of the downstairs. And I mean finished pics! 3 more pairs of curtains to buy (3 more to glue pom-poms on too), get DH to hang the DR chandelier - and maybe, just maybe, if my decorating piggy bank has enough money - get my big black and white print for the hallway.

Thank you acoreana for sharing the video. The Cork color on my monitor looked like a nice happy warm gold color. I just wish someone had a picture of it in their home with more wall space.

My thoughts exactly, Lynn2006! But seeing the video is definitely a good start. Maybe others will have "home photos" after the holiday.

We have both colors in our home! I was set on using BM Cork for my main color in our home and painted it as samples and it was way TOO much if you are using it alot!

We chose to go with Desert Tan as our main areas..... We then used Lenox tan in our children's rooms and the study. We opted for CORK in our Master bedroom! I can't wait to show you a picture! It definitely makes a statement, but I love it! In the master bath is desert tan!!

Will try and get you a picture soon.

I have BM Cork in a bathroom and it doesn't look like the color that Yvette has posted. Maybe, it's my computer screen. Our bathroom BM Cork doesn't have gold tones. It looks more like chocolate milk. I like the color a lot and this room gets compliments on wall color. I'm sorry I'm unable to post a picture.

I know these colors very well! (Finally, I can contribute.) I have Desert Tan in my house (great room and foyer - open floor plan) and I really love it. We started with BM Cork and it was too much for us as well. I agree with the earlier post (ourhome2007), it's a strong color and I was looking for something more soothing. I have pics of both colors and I can share them with you (even the Cork before it got repainted), but first I need to learn how to upload photos to this site. (So happy to be contributing! I'd been a lurker till now!) Let dig up those directions and I will post.

For Tahl...not sure I posted this correctly, I am a newbie. Apologies.

Our foyer has Desert Tan "in action".

More "action" shots of Desert Tan in our great room. (We have an open floor plan, so we used Desert Tan in several rooms on the main level.) You may notice the niche-thing above the fireplace is still painted Cork. We lamely haven't found the "right piece" for that space..anyhow, that's Cork directly compared to Desert Tan - that's action, no?

Cork! Too intense for us, but maybe not for you?

Kiki, your home is beautiful! I'm debating "Cork" myself now for one of our rentals - neutral enough but really warm is how I think it looks.
