My '10's of dollars a month' kitchen redo

Hi,

I've been lurking here for some time, rarely posting.

Since i finally have something to share, here I am :)

When I started this project I was starting over, in a sense. My DH and I had recently split up, times were difficult and I needed a project, and a change - a re-nesting, of sorts. This was my first project that I did completely by myself (except some tiling a friend helped with later on).

It's taken me a year and half so far, and I'm not done yet, but I've really enjoyed the process.

My budget was as close to zero as I could get - the separation was not easy and money was very tight. To date I have spent about $750 on materials and some labor for my tiling friend (the labor was $200 of that). I called it my "Kitchen redo on tens of dollars a month" - $41 a month, to be exact.

With that $550 I bought paint, sandpaper and stuff like that, a sink, tile, grout and supplies, some wood for trim and a pre-done door trim, and a few miscellaneous accessories.

I welcome any comments or suggestions anyone may have :)
