That's annoying. I hope you can proceed with the other stuff and just leave the range installation for last. Keep us posted as there are a number of people here, including myself, who are considering this range.

That's too bad pudgybaby. I had already cancelled my order but I wouldn't have been ready for it anyway. When I asked about the refund it was stated that the order date would also suffice and the rebate form clearly has the part number for the induction range. I have a copy of the rebate form if you need it.

The fact that there was so much demand is good to hear. Maybe more vendors will make induction ranges and the prices will come down.

But it's normal to have delays with new releases (did you hear about the iPad?), and to have construction delays. You just have to take a deep breath and then another. And when you feel like crying go stroke a marble sample, even if you're not putting marble in. It just feels so good.

Are the savings significant enough that the headachs of delay are worth it? What if you go to a mom and pop store. You'll still get the savings of 10% and you'll negotiate other savings as well. BUT, I understand too that you have already paid for the item and cancellation and reimbursement might be a headach too. I'm no different than anyone else and I've sometimes never got my way. Just remember the 3rd law of thermodynamics " you never get ahead, hell, you're lucky to break even." I know of a gentleman, who will stoop to new lows just to save a few pennies. His health on the otherhand is costing him plenty. Get the picture!!! I want to refer you to my post, "Appliance purchased at Sears." Buy the unit from another supplier if possible and enjoy your soon to be very nice kitchen.

I am certainly not surprised by this delay, just bummed. I will continue to finalize the other details on the kitchen remodel - I am amazed at how much there is to pick out, the number of decisions, etc. If I thought that the delivery was really 2 months from now, I would probably proceed full steam ahead on the remodel and demo in 2 weeks, but the '1 to 2 months' was so indefinite that I suspect it will be longer. I'll see if I can anything more definite when I call E'luxe on Monday. Really, I'd rather that they do whatever they need to do to address any quality issues as they start up production, which I'm sure is common with new production.

I am curious what anyone who has placed an order on this range has heard regarding delivery date.

Texaskitchentoo. I saw a blank rebate form and it asked for a serial number so I waas waiting for delivery to fill it out. Is there a generic part number we can use for this to get the discount on time? It needs to be fined by 4/30 I think. I have some time to wait but not indefinitely!

I've got a blank rebate form, too. I was told by E'luxe that the 'mail by' date on the form will not be enforced, but I will ask about that tomorrow. I think that we have to have our own range, with the serial number, to submit the rebate form.

I called Electrolux today to inquire about the induction range situation. I didn't get a lot of info, but apparently no ranges have been produced yet. So I think perhaps it's not so much an overwhelming demand problem as much as an underwhelming production problem :o)

This is, of course, not surprising, and as I said earlier, better that they get the product right than ship bad ones.

They did reiterate that they will not hold us to the 'mail by' date on the rebate form - we will still get our 10% rebates.

I'd suggest they should give you another 10% for busting thier Mar availability date and delaying your remodel. Worse they can say is "no."

Just called Electrolux. Was told they have been made but not released. Not sure what that means. Is there an announced release date?

Sorry I haven't been checking in here. I called my sales rep on Monday or Tuesday, he said he would check, and I just found out he left town and won't be back until Monday. DH just called his personal # to remind him that he hadn't followed up with me. But it sounds like it will be the same as pudgybaby. We still have our other range and can get by until it comes it, so no big deal for us, but I am bummed for those who can't move forward without it.

We do get our fridge and MW and DW delivered tomorrow (though DW won't be hooked up until we get our counters, another 7-10 days at least. Slowly but steadily...

I want to see what that second so-called 'oven' looks like. I looked at a duel fuel version and a freestanding and the second 'oven' is not the same on the two units. One is nearly full width, the other is quite narrow.

The video on the E'lux site shows the slidein has a full width oven.

What does the Electrolux have that the Kenmore Induction Slide-in does not?

I also just saw the Electrolux slide-in induction range in a local showroom. I am still trying to make a decision on a range and microwave.

The oven shelves measure about one inch shallower, about 15 inch, versus 16" on the freestanding Electrolux radiant range. The bottom oven is similar to the freestanding, like a drawer. I didn't measure this.

The burners on top though are the most generous ones I have seen! Finally, a stove top for those of us who cook for large gatherings. They are much larger than the GE induction range. You could easily have two large skillets cooking at the same time, or a skillet and a stock pot.

Also, checked out the back and the plug-in is not limited in placement as on the GE, which doesn't alllow it to be centered. Many thanks again to the one of the saavy consumers and writers on this forum!

Haven't heard anything today and I am a little frustrated with these people in general right now (I will post separately about that because I have questions). I promise as soon as someone gets back to me I will let you all know!

I was assuming that the induction would be similar to the one on the showroom floor. On that one, the 2nd oven was shallow but the same width, in the place of the p0ts and p@ns drawer that I have on my current one.

I'm glad to hear that the burners are ample! We also really liked the gliding racks -- does the K'more have those? DH saw the K'more but I didn't, and he thought the E'lux, at least the radiant electric one we saw, was more substantial and better made.

The E'lux has 2 ovens. For me, that is the biggest advantage over the Kenmores, GE, and Samsung. Hopefully it won't have the problems with the paint on the oven liner chipping off. It also seems to have a better burner configuration than the Kenmore freestanding, GE, or Samsung.

The Elux has the gliding racks. I think their build quality is better, but I need to see one up close.

I got an email from AJ Madison today - mine has shipped! They are using 'Home Direct USA' for the shipping, and the tracking number is not in the system yet (at least I can't bring up anything online). They told me that the shipping company would contact me to set up a delivery time. I will be sure to provide updates when it is delivered.

Of course I delayed the remodel and got on the schedule with the general contractor for May 17, and I don't think that I will be able to move it any sooner at this point, but maybe. So, it will probably be a while before I actually use it.

I also have an Electrolux Induction Range on order from A.J. Madison. Originally I was told to expect it the second week of March, then the third week of March, then Mid April! However a couple of days ago, they told me I should get it as early as late next week, on 3/26.

Before going with AJ, I inquired at Sears. At that time, the salesman couldn't find any info on it at all from Sears. Apparently, they aren't carrying it. Why compete with their own Electolux Made Induction Ranges? I also have asked about it a Lowes. All I was told there was that they could probably order it, but really didn't have any information on it at all either. I can't see many "Mom & Pop" stores carrying this one. Even without the 10% rebate, AJ's price is about $300. less than the current "List" price.

I am getting this for a winter home, and will be leaving soon. If I get the range next week, I will have about a week to try it out. If it gets delayed again, I may have to cancel the order, and start over again.

Some posters wonder if the Sears induction range, apparently produced by El'ux would be a good substitution at a huge cost-savings.

I was really hoping I would like this range. In fact, it is often on sale for hundreds off, has a flat-screen control panel, adequate-sized burners, has convection features that allow roasting and broiling, a large oven with 16" deep porcelain racks and a warming drawer with steel extension glides.

Unfortunately, the stainless sheet metal work, the gauge of the racks, the overall burner sizes, and the coils for the broiler do not compare favorably to the Electrolux slide-in induction range I saw a few days ago. The El'ux has a oven drawer rather than a warmer.

I would simply say, "Does the Sears come with a box of band-aids?"

Anyone checking out appliances in person will know what I mean. Sharp, unrolled sheet metal edges with a small gap at the outside corners of the oven door and warmer drawer feel like finger slicers to me. To be fair, this is the standard I have observed of a vast number of manufacturers.

Even the multiple rows of slotted oven vents, located just behind the door handle, looked and felt like knuckle scrapers to me.

If I started a thread on what I would like to communicate to manufacturers after evaluating appliances on sale in America today, this would be my number one issue!

E'lux is planning to release a freestanding induction range, reportedly in June.

From what I have seen, both the Electolux made Kenmore, and the Electrolux Induction Ranges have the same "List" price, $3499.00., + or - 99 cents. The Kenmore is "always" on sale, usually going for $2799.99. With AJ Madison's price of $3199.00, minus $319.90, the Februrary 10% rebate, it was a no brainer for me to go with the Electrolux. Of course, I could have had the Kenmore a month ago. Not sure when, if ever, I will get the Electolux. I am sure that I would be happy with the Kenmore. But, why not get the Rolls Royce of Ranges, for a hundred dollars more?

I don't know how this happened but I paid $2099 for my Kenmore induction slide-in last October. I have never seen it that cheap again.

I love, love, love the burner arrangement. I can use my 12" and 10" skillets together in the front at the same time.

The free-standing version of the Kenmore induction has a really weird, not useful burner arrangement if you ask me.

So far, I have found the warming drawer to be kind of useless. It takes a full 15 minutes to heat up -- by the time I figure out I need it, I don't have 15 minutes to wait. I don't think it really gets hot enough to keep the food like I want it. I just as soon keep the food in the oven with it shut off and the door cracked.

The extended gliding racks on the Electrolux sound really nice! I'd like to have those for sure.

All in all, the only thing different about this range and my 10 year old Kitchenaid electric convection slide-in is -- the induction burners and the warming drawer. Other than that my KA had all the same features. Love the induction burners not sure I'd spend $1,000 more for them.

PS: The extended service plan for the induction range was also more than for a regular electric range. It is worth asking for a discount on the service plan. The also charge a boat-load to "install" a slide-in range. We did it ourselves but leveling it proved to be a challenge.

My wife and I purchased an Electrolux kitchen from AJ Madison February 19, 2010. Included in the order is the Electrolux Induction slide in range.
