The rugs has finally arrived! (pics)

Just got delivered today. Waited 4 agonzing months second guessing it but I have to say it really looks nice and the room feels a lot more complete.

VERY nice! The rug really pulls all your colors together, and looks much better IRL than in the photoshopped version.

Hi dgmarie :-) The real thing looks even better than the photoshopped version! It's beautiful. I remember how you agonized over the decision, I even voted a couple of times. You had chosen several that looked really good in your room and your final choice is just beautiful. I know you're glad to have it done and be enjoying it in time for the holidays. Congrats, great choice and a gorgeous room!

Thanks all. I have a stash of fabric swatches from previous projects and found great fabric to cover the chair seats -- cream (same color as settee) and the same green that's in the rug, in a pattern that echoes some of the shapes in the rug. Today while I'm waiting for the table delivery I'm going to take down the old valances and maybe see how I like the room with naked windows....but I have a feeling I will end up doing fabric roman shades once I find the right fabric.

Okay- let's talk bedding. I have spent hours searching (online and in stores) and I keep coming back to the RH bedding. So I went back to my store today. They were out of about half of what I needed and wanted so I ordered it (w/ free shipping) and I should have it ALL by the end of the week. Here is what I decided on. 1 King Duvet Cover in the 18th Century Medallion (in link above.) Pacific, so it does have a hint of blue. 2 Matelasse King Euro Shams in Fog (also linked above) 2 Lumbar "accent pillows" in cashmere.. one for each sham. I brought home 2 colors- a gray and an icy blue and need to choose. 1 Matelasse coverlet to act as a blanket- will be between the duvet cover and sheets. ***bought in Eucalyptus which is an icy blue color. The salesman talked me into this and I an really second guessing this for 2 reasons. #1- $179 is a LOT of money for a blanket that might not been seen. I could find a blanket at HomeGoods for $39 that would be fine. #2- *if* I stick w/ it, should I exchange it for Fog (color) so it matches the shams?? I really like the pop of color, but let's say, in the summer time, I decide to let the coverlet show more... wouldn't I want it to match the shams? Or am I trying to be too matchy-matchy??? (a problem of mine.) Wdyt??? Solid choices? I do need to get a king, light weight duvet on order. Any recs? I will go ahead and link the Matelasse coverlet again... *if* I keep the coverlet, should I switch to Fog? wdyt? thanks! Here is a link that might be useful: RH Matelasse

mimi_2006, What a beautiful table! I love the legs. If I could have found one that wasn't round, I would have gone that way, but almost everything I found in antique shops in the year or so that I was looking was the round table, usually with the claw feet, and the other thing was that the leaves were normal, versus quartersawn, oak. The antique salesman told me that was because the table was usually covered with a tablecloth when pulled out, but I can't imagine covering beautiful wood, so that was a sticking point for me. I love how your leaves pull out of the ends. I looked at several tables like that (I can't remember what that is called) and REALLY like the style. You found very nice chairs to match the table. I think they work great in your space. If I do decide to buy that rug, I'll probably use it in the attached living room instead of under the table. I just can't imagine spaghetti and such on the rug for the next few years at least. The dogs are good cleaner uppers, but still... :) flowerchild, You are right. It wasn't that long ago, mid July if I remember correctly, because we hoped to have them around the 4th and they were finished about a week after that. The waiting, in retrospect, wasn't that bad, but at the time, with the GC and DH breathing down my neck, it was pretty tense. But, definitely worth all the headaches and anxiety. We might not have the same style (although we do have the same front door) ;-) but I love seeing your posts also. Your home is beautiful and I love you master bedroom. The bed is beautiful and to have a fireplace in the room and the great "bones", to die for.

Perfect! I hope it was worth the agony! It sure looiks it! Really defines the space in a large room. And I must add that it goes to show how great the photoshop works. Applause for all!

This makes a great before and after to show what a wow statement a rug can add to a room. It really brings everything together.

It's a Feizy rug, cut wool pile, called Natasha. I've vaccummed two containers of lint off it so far!

Excellent choice. I never would've though about using an area rug over carpet, but I have to agree it really defines the seating area and looks great from above.
