I made a mistake, I think. I mixed MG into my veggie garden.

You can always add organic matter on top of your soil as a mulch that will slowly break down and feed the soil microbes. Aged compost and worm castings are always safe to add and won't burn your plants. I like to fertilize using things like used coffee grounds or other seed meals since they are slow release fertilizers. If I have some greedy plants that like lots of nitrogen and phosphorus, I give them a small hand full of alfalfa pellets. Be careful with the blood meal as it is really strong and a little goes a very long way. Enjoy....See MoreThink I made a mistake with my curtains.....
Comments (39)Found this picture today and i absolutely LOVE it. could I do something similar in my livingroom? what colors? the window doesn't have direct light shining through. maybe add something else to what i already have? OK, I know I'm going to take a beating for this from someone, but, IMO, the current window treatments are just not right for the window and the room (what I can see of it), and no amount of fussing over them will change that. The fabric is a ho-hum color and is too delicate for the mass of sofa in front of it, and there isn't nearly enough of it. Valances and jabots and tassles look wonderful when they are carried off well and are in the right room. They tend to be a more formal look and generally need more formal-type furniture to complement them. And when done well, as in your inspiration photo, they tend to be pricy because they take a lot of fabric and more workmanship. When you try to scrimp on the amount of fabric, you lose the look altogether. If you are on a tight budget, limiting yourself to stationary panels on the sides without a valance would allow you to get more a more substantial fabric and more of it. A heavier fabric would balance out the sofa better, and simple panels without the valance would seem to be a better fit with the sofa....See MoreI think I made a mistake with my pool lighting!!!!
Comments (6)quote" Do people prefer more of the lower wattage or fewer big wattage lights? What do the lighting pros say? "quote At 200 per lamp, 75 per lamp install, and 5.00 per foot for each additional lamp's conduit run, my buyers usually go with less lamps at a higher wattage. My preference is colored lighting. I like 2 Pentair Sam's, Jandy color changing, or especially Hayward ColorLogic lamps aimed head-on at each other across the runout of the pool. Comments (27)I like both the house colour and the shutters as you've painted them, but agree that the trim would be better in a creamy colour, perhaps even a very light tan. Your roof has a LOT of red in it. If you have a stray shingle, I would take it to a paint store or one of the big box stores and have them analyze the colour. You may be surprised at the dominant pigments in your roof. Knowing that will steer you towards colours that are more complementary. Having said that, I do not really care for the roof colour. If the roof is old or will be replaced in the next few years, I would select the roof colour you plan to use and then select your paint based on that. I think a lighter brown would be nice with your existing colour scheme, but to me your house is crying out for a light charcoal roof, grey paint and crisp white trim, and black shutters. :)...See Moreyborgal
