Show me your Granite... with Cherry Cabinets and Cherry Floors!
Comments (16)Hi there! My cabinets are Cherry with an Amber stain. We have Bianco Antico for our granite. I think the contrast of dark cabinets and floors go well with the lighter granite that has dark streaks running through it. I'm not sure about posting pictures, but I'll give it a try. Hope this helps....See MoreWhat colour to paint kitchen walls
Comments (33)Hi Beth, That ceiling is a massive blob of white right now and it will be painted similar colour to walls. And new lighting as well. Just not sure what colour, it is a huge expanse, vaults up 17’ then down to standard 8’. The high Windows are south facing, patio door is west and back windows are north facing. Unfortunately, All the greys either look quite blue or white in the north half of the room as well. So quite the conundrum. We took down the wall between kitchen and livng/dining room. This is a huge reno, Post and Beam home. Here are more photos Bye Bye 1985 Cabinets, and View Blocking wall Notice Greige paints are blue on North/right side and somewhat white on south/left side. Don’t want blue. The View...North Windows you can see Revere pewter, Colonade and Grey Horse on this wall. Comments (3)If you have changed a lot of things in a short period of time, consider waiting on the painting for a while so you get used to the changes. You can keep sampling paint colors if you want, but don't rush the decision. I sometimes take months to choose a paint color. Someone told me she painted her living room a color she loved in the winter, but in the summer the light is different and she hates it. I have painted three houses top to bottom in my lifetime. Sometimes I get the color right on the first try, but in one room I think I tried ten colors. But the tenth one was perfect. The average number of colors I sample is 3 - 5. Sometimes when sampling I decide a color isn't right for that room but I end up using it in another room. I like Accessible Beige, it's very close to BM Edgecomb Gray. They are background colors - you don't really think about them. If you cut a color's tint, I've found that you have to do 50% for it to make enough of a difference. But when you do that, you do end up with an entirely different color. What about going lighter with Aesthetic White, Shoji White, Natural Choice or Greek Villa? When you sample, prime a large section of wall so when you're looking at the new colors you're not influenced by how they look next to the old color. Or paint scrap pieces of drywall or wood with your samples (after priming). Paint two coats of the sample colors so you get the full effect. Or get the peel and stick samples from Samplize.com. Look at the samples on all of the walls, at different times of the day and under different weather conditions (cloudy, sunny, partly cloudy)....See MoreUpdating cherry kitchen cabinets
Comments (4)Different wall paint, replace backsplash, single bowl sink either with or without replacing counters. Low profile under cabinet lights & remove the clunky light rail. Looks like the overhead lighting in the kitchen could be improved upon. ...plus adding in a custom White Island. Would rethink this. Looks like you will be erecting a barrier island and a white island is going to stick out like a sore thumb in this kitchen. Flooring looks fine. If in good condition, you can add a runner to infuse more color. If you replace the flooring, I would not go lighter....See Morejeanmw
