Show me your Granite... with Cherry Cabinets and Cherry Floors!

I just cannot seem to decide on the right granite for the kitchen. Can't decide to go with a darker granite or a lighter granite. I'm sure they'd both look great as I have yet to see something that does NOT look nice with medium-toned cherry cabinets. :)

Our cabinets are Medallion Brookhill Cherry with the Harvest Bronze (highlighted) finish. Floors will either be Brazilian Cherry or Ironwood (both are a deep reddish-brown).

Then why do you keep bumping them? I'm sure there are many people who might be interested in this post and other "old" ones.

Here is our kitchen. The granite is a dark gray that reads like black so it's called Impala Black. The floor is Chilean Cherry.

Hi jodi! You're the one who inspired me (along with the rest of the planet) to take a long look at the Fire & Ice backsplash... gorgeous!!!

Ok, I've got a photo with DARK granite... anyone with LIGHT granite for comparison?? (More dark photos are welcome too!). :)

I don't have oak floors or cherry cabinets, but maybe some help. Try posting this question over on the main kitchen Forum. Much busier there and you will likely get more responses. This Forum is more for chatting and is less trafficked. Also look in the finished kitchens. Starpooh set it up to be searchable, so you should be able to pull up any kitchens with that combo. i would love to see lighter/natural cherry kitchen mixed with white cabs. anyone have some pics to share? i am planning a cherry kitchen (wheat stain), american walnut floors and carrera tops. contemplating a short white run of cabs with unoiled belvedere soapstone tops. too much contrast? should i just do everything the same? love to get some input from people who breathe eat and sleep kitchens. thanks! suzatwork: i have to say your floors have very much the same grain and variation in tone as my highly-coveted black walnut. they're stunning! i'm wondering how they take stain, since i'd like darker floors? my plan is to go with the walnut but i'll have to get some samples and check the amendoim out. i'll have to look it up, but also assuming this species would be harder than walnut... hmmm... GREAT! more for me to think about! thanks for posting your gorgeous floors.

MaryElizabeth...I got the Olde Thompson spice rack fall of 2007 at Costco for $25 but on the Olde Thompson site they are selling for $50, marked down from $66. Guess I got a good deal. The last time I was in a So. Calif. Costco they were still selling them.

Hi there! My cabinets are Cherry with an Amber stain. We have Bianco Antico for our granite. I think the contrast of dark cabinets and floors go well with the lighter granite that has dark streaks running through it. I'm not sure about posting pictures, but I'll give it a try.

My cabinets are cherry, floor is ammendoim, and counter is new ornamentale granite...

We have cherry cabinets and a brazilian cherry floor. We chose our counters for contrast, so we picked Andromeda White granite.

I'm not sure why you care, but for the record, I was just trying to be helpful. The post popped up, and I didn't even notice the date. I guess some people just have to find something negative to say. Have a nice life!

The point is that there are people needing help with their kitchens now and when you pull up a 9 year old thread it pushes the threads down that need the help.
