The glass in your picture is of glass tile mosaic, not cracked glass. If you need pictures, go to houzz.com and in the search type in "glass mosaic backsplash" an about 50 billion pictures will show up for you:-)

The tile you show looks very gray, but from the pics, it doesn't look like there is a lot of gray in your granite. It may not be the best choice, at least from the pictures posted here. Also the granite is fairly busy, as is the glass tile.

I think a **single-colour** glass mosaic (in any size) would work better.

Your choice would compete rather than compliment your granite. Go for simple and if you want pizzazz than add some accent pieces.
But, honestly your granite should be the star.

My mother has that gorgeous Typhoon Bordeaux and it is a show stopper. Her's is the pretty kind like yours. Some of them are really wild, I like the tamer version, it is just so darn pretty! I have been looking for a back splash for her and am attaching what I have come up with. It is a marble like travertine but not like the travers of old it's very finely grained and is new according to the tile lady. I want to pair it with some of the glass bordeaux color 1 x 1 tiles every so often to compliment the granite. These are just samples and a small piece of her granite since she lives hundreds of miles away from me.

These are crummy cell phone pix. Imagine them vibrant and clear without shadows and discolorations!!! One day I will have a good cell camera! There is no yellow in it like in these photos, errr...

Thanks guys. I am a granite fabricator and originally I was going to just do the full granite backsplash, but I had a customer come in and wanted to use the same material, so I figured I could save about $1000 in material if I went with something else. I think you guys might be right about the backsplash taking too much attention away from the granite. Should I use just a solid glass mosiac or just tile it?

Subway crackle tile seems to have mass appeal. They look more traditional. They would look good.

Mosaics have less of a mass appeal. They look more modern. They would look good too.

I have the same granite and am having the same issues with trying to find the right tile/stone to compliment rather than compete with the countertop. I have found Jeffrey Court Chapt. 8 Jasper to be a great color. Still deciding though. I'm anxious to see what you do. I'm not a fan of the small mosaics. The granite is so rich and has so much movement that you have to be careful what you put with it. The crackle glass is nice though and would be a nice touch to a plainer field tile.

definitely! go with something rather plain. maybe with a few (few) diamond accent tiles or a pencil accent.

that tile is very distracting. It might go with a plain white, grey or black counter top.
