Where to buy beadboard wallpaper?

Could you please tell me where you got yours? Thanks!

I purchased ours from Graham Brown (do a google search for beadboard wallpaper and it will come up--good customer service and very quick shipping.

We just finished putting up this on the ceilings in the new addition to the farmhouse we are renovating and are VERY pleased. Everyone who sees it (including GC who thought we were crazy when we told him what we were going to do) can't believe its wallpaper. BTW, we got the unpasted--just make sure you use heavy duty wallpaper paste. I just gave away my extra but could probably get a sample piece back to send if you want - just let me know. Graham Brown will also send you a small sample.

I hope I do this right - I am trying to attach a link which will show you the ceiling in the den. On the left side of the picture is actual beadboard (old part of the house; on the right side of the beam is the beadboard wallpaper we put up.

Moonkat, wow, it looks like you're making just great headway. I hope you're not overdoing it as I know overhead work is hard on you, especially on the neck. Ouch! If you have one of those seed-filled u-shaped neck pillows, you can put it in the microwave (for 1-2 mins, no more) just before bed and fall asleep with it wrapped around your neck. Yum. I do that every night all winter long. I'm so happy you got a sander you really like. The right tools make a huge difference to getting the job done -- or even wanting to. Hmmm... I ordered on the 26th, and the due date is "January 30, 2009 - February 4, 2009." I ordered through amazon.com but it's coming from the same place yours did. I am eager to see it - lol. ~~ Laurie, yes you can buy a kit (from http://www.elitetrimworks.com/home.php) but I was just doing my own thing and sort of copying the photo. I have a chop saw and I really like it, though I'm super careful with it because it could take off a finger in a blink. ~~ Helene, oh you did wallpaper over it. I am hoping after my mudding and sanding that my walls will be fine under the wallpaper. But I don't think they're good enough to do that other kind of panelling with the little boxes, at least not yet. The longer wall got super torn up from removing those boards. I like the idea of doing it horizontally. that could save time, too. I'll keep it in mind. ~~ Well, everyone, I am trying to decide if I can make the walls look good enough with the beadboard wallpaper, since the other way is so much work and I'm wearing out. What do you think? If you had a split entry, would you do beadboard panelling on the walls? Or opt for something more formal at your entry?

Hi Oceanna, LOL - sometimes I get stubborn and don't ask for help! Don't ask me about the time that I thought re-sodding a lawn would be simple (you have no idea how heavy grass can be) Here are my thoughts regarding the paintable wallpaper. I don't think that it would withstand high traffic/heavy use areas where there would be the potential for dents and cuts. I have mine in a guest bathroom and am currently installing it in the adjoining bedroom. These rooms are only used occasionally. However, it is a rather inexpensive experiment - I think that I only paid $25.00 per double roll at Creative Wallcoverings. You could order a sample and play around with it. I also think that the durability would depend on the quality/type of paint that was used. I used a flat wall paint because it was what I had on hand. I would think that in an area such as a kitchen, a satin or semi-gloss would be a better choice. Regarding the installation - I glued/nailed the chair rail right over the wallpaper without any problems. I did not remove the baseboard; just papered the wall with about 2 inches extra hanging at the bottom. Then, using my razor and the wallpaper smoother, I simply cut the paper to fit. I changed the razor after 2 cuts - they get dull very quickly. Just let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for the advice, all! We're installing "real" beadboard on the eat-in half of the kitchen, so I think the eye will more readily accept the "fake" backsplash. farmhousebound, I would love some of your scraps, but I can't figure out how to PM you! I clicked on your screen name and your "page".

I know what you mean. I can't resist checking out their online catalog every so often. Used to get catalogs through the mail and hated to throw them away. Yes, I'd like to see some of that furniture in actual rooms. I do like alot of it, but the prices are so out there. Wonder if it is well made? Did you see the chair that was a pile of sticks with a sherpa or fur "seat"? I was thinking I bet I could make a version of that. :) I've said it before, but if I was skinny I'd buy those clothes even tho I'm too old for them.

I have heard others have purchased from Lowes but when I checked, our Lowes is not carrying any wallpaper anymore; in fact, I could not find it wanywhere locally. You can do a search on this and decorating site and there was a thread regarding where folks had purchased theirs. Good luck!!

that ceiling looks great! Very impressive!

I tried Lowe's online and they said my local store had some, but when I called they said they hadn't carried it in a while. Of course I just had the idea to use it on the backs of my cabs rather than cutting out real wood yesterday and wanted to do it today . . . I'm all about instant gratification! Guess I may have to order it and be patient. . . :-)

I got mine (for DD1's bedroom) at Home Depot. Prepasted, super thick. Has held up well so far.

i need heavy/thick wallpaper. what brands carry it. Many years ago before i moved in there was a fire started by a dog who knocked over a lamp nexed to the wall. firemen used chemicals on the wall and paint crackled after that. i updated it with heavy paper. it lasted 30 years. i need to do it over. any ideas? thanks, Maggie.
