Not liking the red background on this WEb page!

What happened?! Is it just my computer, or does everyone see the background color as red? It's very hard to read.

I saw it briefly until I updated Adblock Plus and got rid of the paint ad.

I saw it too, and it seemed to make my computer slower... but then it went away.

Kathy, I know nothing about setting up a page so I'm glad you brought it up. Something I've been meaning to do, never get around to. Glad for the info everyone's giving. they are there you just have to get the mouse cursor over them they look like a little triangle of lines in the corners just click and hold down the mouse button and drag. Here are more options from some Ie tips sites Opening Internet Explorer Full Size Ever notice sometimes you right-click on a link and open a new window and it's not full screen? This usually occurs because IE remembers the last window size when closed. Many times a background pop-up will do this too, if it is the last window closed. To resize the window and regain control: * Close all instances of Internet Explorer except for one. * Right-click on a link in the page and select: "Open in New Window" * Close the first browser window using the [ X ] (upper right corner) * Resize the window manually by dragging the sides to the desired size. Note: Do NOT click the Maximize button, you must do it manually. * Hold down the Ctrl key and click the Close button (upper right) You can also try this if possible for Ie To increase or change the size, click on the Restore button, the middle one in the upper right hand corner of the toolbar. Resize the window and then close the Internet Explorer The next time you click on a hyperlink, it will open to the size you set. or If you do not mind always having maximized IE windows, another approach is to edit the IE shortcut. Right-click on the shortcut that you use for IE and choose properties in the context menu. In the drop-down menu for "Run" select "Maximized". (Secondary IE windows will not inherit this setting).

I am looking at the webpage that I made on my desktop- Not the internet. When I click on the restricted site message at the bottom of the page it takes me to a window titled- Internet Security Properties which says select a zone to view or change security settings. Security settings on what ? My computer? The web page? I tried to send the whole file as an attachment so my friend could open it and view it on her computer. I would think the decision whether or not to view the page would depend on whether or not she chooses to open it- not whether or not the computer decides to restict it. It basically was a birthday message I made up with lots of dancing images (that were inluded in the file) that no longer show up because of this resticted thing I got when I tried to send it.

What is that RED? Beside the fact it makes for difficult reading, there's an ad that won't move so you can't read the top two posts?

It is icky. I clicked and it changed to green which is not much improvement.

I was doing a lot of checking of old threads today (sinks!) and the red was driving me nuts! Sometimes refresh would take care of it, sometimes not. Going back a page had interesting results: sometimes it just went back to the google search and other times it went 2 or more pages back. Awful. This is an ad problem of some sort.

I thought maybe it had to do with someone's user settings... Whatever it is...I don't like it! But OMG when I went to preview this statement there it was! GRRR

It's happening on Kitchen Table to some people too, but not all. (Not me.) I'd say an email to GW is in order for those who see it.

Agreed! I just asked about it in another forum; I guess I accidentally rolled over an extremely annoying ad.

It's almost impossible to read the page with that color.

It seems to be linked to a Sherwin Williams ad when I see it. I did send a note to GW last night.

What browser are you using? I use Firefox with the "Adblock Plus" add-in and I've never seen the red background! As a matter of fact, I never see any ads!

Just an fyi.

Today is the first time I have had this red background and I HATE it!!!! Hope the "powers to be" are reading these and get it changed~

Buehl, I use FF and AdBlock Plus, but occasionally have to update it when I see top or side ads.

Well, I saw it the other day, and then it was gone.

Now today, it is back. Arrrgh! It is so irritating trying to read with that blazing red!

I've had it on and off for 2 days....sometimes it's not on the 2nd page. Very hard to read....

When this thread started, I'd only seen the red once or twice (actually worried it might mean I had a computer problem the first time!). Today, it's all over the place! I followed buehl's recommendation of getting Adblock Plus since I already use Firefox: no more red!! :)
