Sending the file as an attachment should have no adverse affect on the file. You would have sent it as .htm or .html I presume?

Where is the image that you are trying to display?

If it's on your computer's file system and you're sending it to a different computer by email, the second computer won't have the image, just the html.

It sounds like the page and its contents have not been uploaded to the internet and they are viewing it only on their computer.

I am looking at the webpage that I made on my desktop- Not the internet.
When I click on the restricted site message at the bottom of the page it takes me to a window titled- Internet Security Properties which says select a zone to view or change security settings. Security settings on what ? My computer? The web page?
I tried to send the whole file as an attachment so my friend could open it and view it on her computer. I would think the decision whether or not to view the page would depend on whether or not she chooses to open it- not whether or not the computer decides to restict it.
It basically was a birthday message I made up with lots of dancing images (that were inluded in the file) that no longer show up because of this resticted thing I got when I tried to send it.

I don't think you would have made it on your desktop nor would you view it there.

What suffix did you use to save the web page? ,htm .html .txt?

As bpgreen notes above, all those images would need to be attached to your email then saved on the destination computer in a similarly named folder for the html page to be able to find and show everything.

Might try moving everything into a public folder or www website then sending it as email.

I know what's happening but its hard to explain here - It is a restricted zone because its on your hard drive locally.
Your internet security settings wont allow local and www access in the same browser(email shares same settings) unless you allow it in the security settings.

If you have a public folder, I would put it there and try to send it - or upload to your isp webspace. Your hard drive will by default be a restricted zone, excption is possibly the public folders.

You could try uploading the images to an image hosting site and point the HTML to that location.

Thanks everyone. It's frustrating that I can't send a webpage as an attachment. Seem like I should be able to. I don't want to post (ftp) the webpage to the internet because it is a personal message and I don't want anyone else to see it. I do like the idea of posting the images to a hosting site with an html link. Yet I've always been leery of doing things that way because I don't understand the idea of stealing bandwith.

You have a choice. And a decision to make.

You can make a file available to everyone, you can make it available to a select group, or you can keep it on your local machine and make it available only to you.
