Welcome to GW! In no particular order, from someone who found this forum at the same point (everything already ordered):
--You can wait on a backsplash. Many people here do. They post pix of 2 or 3 or more samples and ask for help.
--Have you looked at the Finished Kitchen Blog? There is a backsplash section.
--Check out Margieb2's kitchen for a gorgeous use of cream glass tile in a traditional brown kitchen.
--You can use the Oceanside glass (you are right, it is both gorgeous and pricey) as an accent.
--Search for a thread a few weeks ago on glass tiles in non-modern style kitchens (it will take you to Margieb's, among others).
--It sounds like you are having a neutral toned kitchen. As long as you have lots of different shades of brown, I think it will look very nice.
--I'm not a tile expert and can't comment on the technical aspects, but someone else here can.

PS - I am so into your granite that I:
#1 - am a little mad at the KD for gently talking me out of blue counters (although I admit it looks nowhere near as beautiful as yours!)
#2 - considered for half a second making my user name "alsobluekitobsessed" :)

I don't know if this will help, but maybe it can give you an idea of what to do for a backsplash with the Cambria Victoria. These were hand made tile, and though I expected them to be more of a teal, the glaze turned out a deep green. As it turns out, it is more versatile than the teal would have been.

Have you looked at Susan Jablon Mosaic Glass tile? I loved the Oceanside Glass, but I found her prices to be better and you can also do a custom color blend if you want. The link to her website is below -- call her and she will work with you on colors/options/etc. She is really wonderful! Good luck!

I'm not sure what price point you're thinking of, but I've seen some very nice iridescent glass mosaic tile on eBay.

Alot of people on this forum recommend Susan Jablon so I would definitely check them out. I'm no where near backsplash picking yet (can't wait to be able to do that!) but I've bookmarked several sites I learned about on this forum.

Here's another one for you to check out. I know nothing about their price point. You'll love this forum. I'm so glad I found it prior to my renovation!

I really like deep1013's backsplash as a way to introduce a different color. Very pretty.
