Time to pick out the backsplash, need ideas quick!
Comments (20)Question--will you really be able to get those Ann Sacks tiles delivered in three weeks? If not (my experience is that some of this stuff takes 4-6 weeks), maybe you could slow down--and wait until all the materials are in. I know what you mean, though b/c we are building and we want to get it all done at the same time so that once we are in, we are done! But, it might be worth just giving it some time. All of that being said, I think either of your choices will be wonderful. I would probably keep it neutral with either marble or cream/white subways....See MoreNeed help picking out a kitchen backsplash
Comments (2)Well, you're mixing cool and warm tones right now. The grey cabinets and flooring aren't really meshing with the super warm beige countertops. Try finding a backsplash that has a mix of greys and beiges to try to marry the two....See MoreNeed help picking out backsplash for kitchen.
Comments (5)I like a mix of both traditional and modern. I think the proper way to call that is traditional contemporary? When the granite was being installed, the old backsplash was removed. I figured it was a no brainer to put it back in. I do like brighter kitchens! The granite itself is called faro gold which is similar to this: https://cdn.msisurfaces.com/images/roomscenes/medium/ferro-gold-granite_emperador-glass-stone-blend-58x58x8mm-a.jpg So should I go with a greyish that is in the granite? Also, if I don't install the backsplash all the way - should I stop it right when the cabinet stops?...See MoreBacksplash help
Comments (14)I totally disagree with the poster who said to paint the ceiling and the window trims white...that would make your kitchen so much less unique and much more ordinary. It is gorgeous as it is; warm, colorful, and inviting. And you say it is a 'lake home,' so the wood is so appropriate. With all of the white cabinets, it just looks perfect to me! Please keep the wood ceiling. As for the valances, I loved the look of your kitchen in the first picture, and I love the look in the picture with the valances....it is beautiful both ways, so if you love the valances, keep them. I also have valances in my kitchen/breakfast room, as I felt the windows should have been taller (they are big, but I felt there was too much wall above them, so the valances made them look taller, sort of 'finished' it off). I am sure most people on Houzz would recommend leaving them off, but I like them. As for the backsplash, which is all you really asked about, it is true that you already have the small one, but I can see that you might want something behind the range. Keep it very simple; either a white tile that is the same color as the paint, or maybe a very light, soft green....See MoreRachelle Vice
