Cultured Marble Bath Counter top Question
Comments (12)Cultured marble is sort of like faux pearls or diamondique.... the name is a bit misleading! It is a blend of resin and marble dust which can be tinted and so varies widely in quality and style. We used it in our house when it was originally built and are now remodeling. The white on our half bath vanity and hall bath still looks okay as far as style. Just a plain white with some minor gray swirling and we'll be keeping it as we work our way through the house remodeling. But our master bath counertop and tub surround is now in the dumpster as it was sort of a taupe color with lots of swirling and was just obviously "fake"....See Moreedging for marble tile as countertop
Comments (1)Call around; there are usually places you can take tile to get the edges rounded. Then you can just do the edges with the same tile and have it all look finished. Using a wood trim that matches your cabinets is another option....See MoreWhat edge for counter adjacent to different counter?
Comments (6)Definitely match the edge! I am assuming you will have an overhang of stone just below that stainless? I just installed my counter tops and sick that I did pay close enough attention to the edges. I will try and post a pick later - I have 3 different corners - squared, rounded, and extra rounded - within a few feet. The fabricator said the rounded edges were necessary to prevent someone knocking the corners off. At the time, I didn't really picture it so I didn't object. If I could have a "do over", I would do it all squared off. Maybe it wouldn't bother other people, but I will have to always avoid looking directly at that area....See MoreMarine Edge on marble countertop
Comments (17)Beautiful marble. That kettle looks much better than mine, which gets heavy use. I'd love to get some of the shine back. I bought it when we remodeled our kitchen in 1986 and replaced the electric range with gas. I was hoping the wide base would help boil water faster. It does help a little, but it doesn't hold much because the bottom of the spout is low. We've gone through a number of whistles and they only seem to whistle when new. I've thought about buying the metal one but not for $50. Aless is also offering 25% off today - a new kettle is $161.25....See Moresue36
