make all your countertops overhang a lot. That is all. It's not the kind of thing that shows up in a top view simulation diagram. Don't be bullied at the last minute by installers who tell you to settle for less.

i see two islands. One is smaller than it could be; here is where you could have more countertop, overhanging a lot. The large island distinctly helps the cook, or impedes the cook, depending on whether or not people will walk through that space when cook is operating. Cooks should not be disturbed. Since you cannot hang a do not disturb sign, you have to make a rule and enforce it.

i think it will be ok to move the fridge far away from the cook, in order to get a peninsula. I haven't yet figured out what is the LHS wall or space. But I think you have invested so much effort into the symmetry of the view onto this big wall that you cannot now put the fridge into this wall or onto the LHS (bare) wall. I dunno.

with a peninsula you could have a mini fridge under the peninsula counter, reserved for the cook.

for some reason i think this kitchen calls for DW's to be dishdrawers.

Where do you envision prepping and where do you envision baking. I want to know exactly for both things.

Where are you switching the DW to? still in the big island?

If your prep spot is going to be on the big island between it and the ovens it almost makes more sense to move the fridge. If that is your prep spot you will be moving around a corner and by the stove everytime you want to go to the fridge. If someone is at the stove stirring or whatever then you're having to go behind them as well.
For baking, same problem. but if you move the fridge you have a straight line to the fridge and behind you are the ovens. It looks like the fridge would be closer to that specific spot than where you have it planned now.

It doesn't matter how long the walls are, what does matter is your travel distance from where you will be primarily standing.

Anyway - where exactly will you be standing for those two activities?

I am currently losing several hours of sleep over this, petrified of putting everything in and going "oh I should have put. . ." After taping everything out on the addition deck last night we have decided to shrink the main island a bit (which contains the sink) by taking out the end cabinet because it's a little tight to the slider on the left wall. I envision myself prepping for baking on the long side of the island or behind the long side if multiple preppers and prepping for rangetop on short side of island. My husband and I (hahaha, I swear if I say the word kitchen one more time to him or ask him to watch one more show on DIY because it's the perfect kitchen I might be sleeping on the couch. . .) decided to turn the second island into a peninsula by dragging it to the adjoining cabinets, and leaving the second sink in there. Knowing this, would you leave the fridge where it is (a little buried) or move it to the top left of the kitchen on the back wall? We are a family of five, multiple cooks, kids ages 6, 4, 2 who LOVE to get involved. I also want to note that I know the best place for the rangetop is on the top north wall, nice tight triangle, but the hood mantle would block a beautiful view of the swingset/trampoline/playhouse, pretty much where the kids are most of the time. We are so close, I can feel it, I think the fridge is really the final decision and I appreciate all the help!!

If you can afford an undercounter fridge, I could possibly consider the fridge move. Otherwise, it's toooo far. Plus, I think you'll like that people can move around that little island, not come in and dead end at your cooking area.

If you make the smaller island into a peninsula is the fridge going to be right beside it and open into it or will it be a cabinet width away? Does the fridge sstay where it is?

Given where you plan on baking and prepping I would probably leave it where it is as long as it isn't crowded into a peninsula corner.
