It's hard to tell on my compy screen, but I'd go for the same blue for the walls, but maybe with a little more gray in it. Just a touch.

Or maybe, wait until your backsplash is grouted to decide on the wall color, but only for adjustments if necessary, you're totally in the right direction. If the grout doesn't look bright white from a distance, and the paint is a bright white base, without gray, there might be a bit of conflict there for the eyes.

I love blue but think the paint color may be too powerful for the space. The glass tile is really pretty and the paint might detract from it. What about something higher up on the strip like Atmospheric Blue or something slightly grayish blue?

Love the kitchen so far. I think that blue is going to overpower the space. I agree with Remodelfla. What about a gray to tie in the gray in the mosaic and the gray in the tile? The gray could have a tinge of blue...

I like them all independently and I like the flooring with everything, but I don't think the paint goes well with the glass tile. Maybe a greyer blue, lile cadet blue, or a more aqua colored blue. I would choose one of the colors in the backsplash and have the paint store color match it, if possible. You may need a larger tile to do that, though.

The blue paint looks a bit purple on my screen. I think it would be better to go with the blue tone in the backsplash for paint. Good Luck!

You have a great start. Looking at that backsplash tile would make me very, very happy. :) I agree with the others, though, that you need a paint color that's a little less intense. What about SW Storm Cloud?

That blue paint is beautiful! But... I think it may be abit too warm to go with the tile, it's bit of a cooler blue.
If it were me, i think i'd out in the back-splash and see what that color ends up really looking like, then select the paint color.

I think the blue paint color will be too much when on the walls - that'll be a lot more of that blue then. a lighter blue or grayer blue as others have suggested would be better I think. a lot of that blue would be hard on the eyes and detract from the BS.

i agree with the others about the blue paint on the walls. it's a nice shade, but looks too intensely blue for a kitchen. a nice grey-blue might be better. we're doing sw quietude in our living and dining, and i really like it. the other color on that paint card, rainswashed is really nice too.
i'd highly reccommend buying samples and testing them out before committing. good luck!

Can you tell me what color Cambria you have and if you have other pictures? I liked your color choices and am just starting our renovation and selecting similar colors.

I think the issue is not only intensity but undertone. The paint is very purple, the tiles are not. Take a look at Fantasy Blue/Heavenly Blue in the BM deck and see if there's a good blue in that area.

Disclaimer: I believe I am descended from Shakers, at least given my decor predilections. Of course they don't have descendants, being celibate, but if they did ...

The blue will probably feel too strong on the walls, and also it reads, on my screen, as a little periwinkle, which the tile is not. You may want try some of the great apps they have, like Benjamin Moore, where you take a photo of something and it tries to match the color. Try it with a part of the mosaic. At least you will be in the same family. And whatever you like on a swatch, i would dial down the intensity two steps on the color card. Paint on the wall almost always feels too strong vs paint on the swatch.

I am also not sure I would pair square mosaics on a b/s w stone pattern on the floor - grout lines themselves can read as a pattern and it might be too much pattern?

love love the backsplash tile! i would wait until it is up. then buy the tiny sample paint cans -- it's worth it. blues and grays can so easily go wrong. it's going to be fab!

I have to agree that waiting until the back-splash is up before actually choosing the paint would be a good idea. I am trying now to choose a gray for my dining room (similar to what I had before) and the paints look so different on the wall than they do on the sample strips. I had no idea how many different types of gray there are!

Your backsplash tile is great! I am also a blue lover, but I agree with the comments about the blue. That one looks a little too purple. Also, the suggestion to dial back the intensity of the blue is also good. We painted our kitchen blue several years ago. I thought I had picked a very light blue. When we got it on the walls, it was much darker than we had thought! We left it quite a while, but I often wished I had stayed with the same tones, but much lighter.
I also like your flooring. I think your kitchen will be wonderful.

Take a look at BM Gossamer Blue. I think that would work with your tiles.

And though I am a HUGE fan of blue--especially periwinkle tones, I am concerned that the particular blue you are favoring doesn't quite work with the backsplash--at least on my monitor. To get a color that will tie everything together, I would take a piece of the mosaic and a chunk of the Cambria down to my Sherwin Williams store and look for one of the colors in that tile--or something that complements both the counter and BS. I said SW because I love the fact that they give you a rather large sample jugs. I have several of them here--I probably have one that would look great in your kitchen! LOL.

I want to thank all of you for your wonderful and very, very helpful comments and suggestions. Looks like you all agree that the floor and backsplash are fine but I need to change the wall color to be a different shade of blue and not so intense. This is perfect and the sort of feedback I was looking for. I like the idea to wait until the backsplash is in before selecting the paint color. I also like the suggestions to buy some sample cans of several colors that interest me. Also, taking the tile and countertop to the paint store is also a good idea to get close to my desired color. Thank you all for your very helpful suggestions. I now have my backsplash and flooring installed. See pics. below. Based upon your recommendations, I am leaning towards a light blue/gray paint for the walls. In some of my pics, I included some cards with the colors I am considering (Probably the second color from the top). I am planning to paint this weekend. Based upon these new actual pics, anyone have any suggestions on actual colors ? Also, how do you like the floor ?

I really like your choices but I would shift the paint color toward the gray as well. The blue wall color on my screen is TOO blue for the floor choice. If you went more gray your backsplash would have more impact and be the star as well.

There are not a lot of blue lovers on the kitchen forum, you might want to cross post on the Home decorating forum where people have experimented a bit more with blues.

If you don't have a lot of wall space to paint I wouldn't be afraid to go with one of the bolder blues or teals. If you go with a greyer blue it might come off as too old fashioned. I have BM Nantucket Fog, a grey blue, but I have a 100 year old house and a kitchen that tries to mesh with it's old house roots. Your kitchen comes off as fresher and younger.

The backsplash and floor look great, but when I look back at your original photos and compare them to the new ones I'm struck by how different the tones look on my monitor; which leads me to be very reluctant to make any advice about color based on what it looks like on a computer. If there's a Benjamin Moore store near you, you can take advantage of a free sample coupon valid through June 30. (Thank you, GW'er kathec!) It's a good size sample (they gave me a 15.75 oz can) and they'll mix it in any color. That would give you a chance to try one of your leading contenders for free and see how it looks on your wall in your lighting.

The floor tile looked grayer when it was first posted.

Installed the floor seems a more brown/tan (even a little yellow/orange) on my screen. I would not put gray with that floor. Instead I would go with a pale beige in a lighter shade than the floor instead of trying to match the backsplash. Bring home color swatches that come off the floor color.

If you pick a shade from the floor tile you will have a more masculine tan/blue combo that I think you'll like.

I think the paint strip that is second from the right is the one to work with. I'd go with the lightest or the next one up.

OK Fellas, now I'm getting varied answers and complaints (which makes sense) that different monitors you have are not reproducing my colors correctly.

OK lets do this a different way. Without looking at any of the color swatches, could you recommend what paint colors would coordinate nicely with the backsplash, countertop, and flooring ? Would a light gray work without any blue in it? I think it makes sense not to have any blue color in the wall paint to bring more contrast (More emphasis) to the blue backsplash. Do you agree ? Or would you go with a different color than gray ? Tim

No on gray. Floor does look different installed - I though it looked a little pink in the sample but it works great with the cabinetry nstalled. There is no need for the floor to coordinate with the paint. The colour out in the cold is the blue. If it were me I would want to re-enforce the blue in a mid level saturated colour (not too light) on the walls. It's tester time so don't be afraid to try something your not 100% about. Safest direction would be white or a white with a blue undertone but I think that's should be the fall back plan at best.

I think you need a bluish gray, not neutral gray.

Watch out though, even a bit bluish gray on the swatch is going to look quite decidedly blue when you have a whole wall of it.

I would look at blues in the lighter range of what you've got in your mosaic tile. Like others have said, get a few testers and see how they look on your wall under the different lighting conditions that you'll have in that space.

I agree that the paint is too blue and that you may want to go more grey.
Perhaps something like this 50/50 mix of BM Metallic Silver and Feather Grey.
