Paint color to go with my green counters and floor
Comments (25)I would: 1. paint the stained window trim white to match the res of the window. 2. Find a top treatment or make one in which the main accent color of the fabric is the tomato red color... trying to find a fabric with the other colors that are in your prints (really cool-- like the prints). I see a fabric with the background color being a lighter tone than the mats on your print (same color- just lighter); with the sage green in the word "tortellini" in your prints; the buttery-white color of the onions; the tomato red, and other colors found in the print would work also (as long as you pick-up on those colors). 3. I would put the flour canisters away since they really don't go with anything in your kitchen and add some tomato red accents on your counter. 4. I would paint the walls an off-white with a lot of yellow tone to it. Or maybe take your "tortellini" print in to paint store, have them color match the mat, and then add the colorant at about 25% of that formula to avoid a matchy look, yet still have it coordinate....See MoreCounter top choices for a small kitchen in a small apartment. Comments (4)I like the first choice too, but I admit I prefer warmer tones. The last is what everyone is doing, predictable and certainly wouldn't be a mistake. Here's the thing that you should know before installing the counter. I would take the sample that you choose and look at BS tiles. It seems like this would be so simple, but I can't tell you how many people install the counter only to be stuck with finding a coordinating tile....See MoreKitchen countertop? Comments (116)I love the slabs you are looking at. Beth is great at this and has very good taste and knows her color schemes! I too like the tempest with the stone and cabinet choice but it has what you like best. Just because we all think it looks great does not mean you love it. Maybe you do need to look at more. Look at all of Beth's beautiful pictures. You want to be sure and you should LOVE your choice. I just went through this myself and this house we are building will most likely be my last (scary thought) so I understand where you are coming from. Get the stone that you jump at immediately and love. Maybe Beth and AJCN can fly out and come with you :)...See MoreKitchen remodel: mixing counter tops? butcher block and quartz?
Comments (1)We redid our kitchen a few years back and did most of the work ourselves. Also have hardwood (oak) floors throughout house. We eneded up covering the linoleum kitchen floor with engineered hardwood and it looks great. We did not try to match the tones of the hardwood floors adjacent to the kitchen and went with something very different in tones and grain. As for mixing countertop materials, I think it can look great! We did mostly soapstone and then light maple butcherblock and they look so nice together. I like the way the wood softens the overall look of the kitchen, and it is also a really pleasant (and quiet) work surface....See Moreaprilneverends
