Hmmm... I'm a novice, but here's my first take.

First, you may really need that filler strip to make the doors work by the corner lazy suzan cabinet. Check with the designer.

Is the corner lazy susan the only part of the installation that is on an inside corner? Normally installers begin there, and in your case, would work from *right* to left, rather than in the order that you listed them.

How about this, starting on the right:
lazy suz (already on hand)
3" filler (already on hand)
9" pullout (converted to vertical storage for baking sheets and/or cutting boards)
36" drawers (already on hand)
12" cabinet (converted to pullout)
30" stove

check to see how fast they can replace the other 12" cab and the 9" pullout with a 21" drawer bank

It might be possible to then work from the left with the pantry (in hand), the fridge, and then wait to slide in the replacement drawer bank. This will hold back countertop install, so it depends how much time-to-completion matters to you.

What are you doing in terms of uppers over the stove? Can the vent hood slide right 9" from what you originally planned?

Alternatively... 12" deep drawers with only two deep drawers in the stack could become one bread drawer on top, and one potato storage drawer on the bottom...

I think Buehl and other experienced folks are in more easterly time zones than I am, so they may already be asleep, and you may hear from them in the morning.

Also, remember that you do not need to decide by tomorrow. It's your kitchen, and you can call a full stop to the project. Or wait till Monday. After all, you did nothing to contribute to the problem.

I'm afraid I can't offer a lot of help, but I wanted to clear one thing up before the experts chime in. On your 'expected' elevation, the 36" 3-drawer bank looks smaller than the 24" 2-drawer bank. Are those 2 dimensions reversed?

Also, it looks like the difference in the total inches of cabinets between the expected and actual is 3 inches less on the actual, right? If that's right, it LOOKS to me that the best solution would be to reduce the 24" 2-drawer by 3 inches, and by LOOKS I mean I think it would look best and maintain the most of your original design. Not sure if it works for you functionally, however.

I totally agree with you that the small cabinets you received are not good, either in looks or function. I don't think 12" drawers are very functional - if you go that route make sure you understand the inside dimensions of the drawers. If these are framed cabinets it's likely to be 8 inches or less, which is not much room. Are the 9" pullouts the spice/oil pullout type? If so, I remember when I was shopping various cabinet brands there was a lot of variation in how wide the usable space was among the brands. Some were fine and you could fit an oil bottle in there, but some were small and would only fit spices.

One last thing, I don't have any filler strip between my corner susan and the adjacent cabinet on either side. I have full overlay doors. They use a special hinge that allows no filler.

Good Luck. I feel so bummed out for you. I'm not getting how an initial measuring error resulted in all those changes, but it sounds like a huge mess up! How long would it take to redo the design properly and order new cabinets?

I don't blame you for being upset! First, you shouldn't need filler next to the corner susan...that's one of the great things about them, they eliminate the need for filler at the corner. Their doors are adjacent to the other doors at 180 degrees, not 90 degrees, and should open just fine.

I would rather see:

Base cabinets:

30" pantry + 36" fridge + 21" drawer base + 30" range + 21" drawer base + 36" drawer base + 3" filler pullout + corner susan

.....OR.....

30" pantry + 36" fridge + 21" drawer base + 30" range + 21" drawer base + 30" drawer base + 9" tray cabinet + corner susan

Upper Cabinets:

30" pantry + 36" fridge + 18" cabinet + 36" range hood + 18" cabinet + 39" cabinet (w/two doors) + corner cabinet

This gives you plenty of workspace around the range as well as maximizes your cabinet space while giving you some balance cabinet-wise.

When we discovered measuring errors on my KD's part, they tried to talk me into 6" of filler flanking my cooktop...but I insisted it was their error and that I would not settle for 12" of filler instead of 18" of cabinets and would not budge until they agreed. I ended up with two 6" frameless cabinet pullouts rather than the filler pullouts I would have preferred (I would have had another 1.5" of space in each), but I considered it an acceptable compromise.

It sounds like there was a lot of finagling on everyone elses part to make it fit, but they should have consulted you BEFORE making any changes!

Where is the hood duct opening and which way does the duct run? Is it in the sofit or the ceiling or does it go out the wall?

BASE
30" pantry, 36" fridge, 36" drawers, 30" range, 36" drawers, 9" pullout, 3" filler strip, then corner lazy suz cab. Can reverse 9" pullout and 36" drawers to right of range.

UPPER starting beside ref(given that I'm unsure of the width of the wider uppers).

9" cabinet, 24" micro cabinet, 36" hood, pair of 21" cabinets, Trade in 9" cabinet for a 15". Can reorder cabinets on either side of hood.

I assume that the range position is fixed, yes?

Not sure if this addresses your problem, but I've seen and talked about merging a narrow vertical storage unit with a lazy susan unit door so that the opening side of the door of the susan is wider than the other one and encloses not only the corner but the space next to it. This way, there's a heck of a lot more light to see into both spaces and there is one less wide stile on the outside of the cabinetry.

I have had a bit of a reprieve in the timeline to decide how to fix this. Designer was going to do up some drawings to see what could be done, so I can think a bit better too.

One thing that she mentioned is that she really likes the look of the 9"vertical pullouts flanking the range. (Not sure if she is just trying to save herself some $$, as I think that she paying to fix it) Obviously I want it to look good!!! Should I try to keep the pullouts just for this reason?

Some of you were wondering if the range position is fixed. Yes it is. There is an island across from it, so it is centered on that.

Does anyone have any pics of a range flanked by 2 21" drawers? I like that idea too.

Designer should be sending me some alternate pics soon, so that I can fix this debacle. :)

Just an update on what I decided to do.
Went with getting rid of the 9"pullouts and 12" cabs altogether and flanking the range with 21" drawers. Then keeping the 36"drawers beside them.

Buehl - this was your option #1. Thanks! Had been considering that one myself, but it is so nice to hear someone else come up with it too!

Is there 3" of filler? If so, I would insist on a 3" filler pullout for additional storage space. 3" of filler is a waste of space!

i hate wasted space too, but I am kinda tired of messing with everything. I have been told that my lazy susan doors have a bit of overhang over the next panel and they might not open well if they are not near a filler. (I actually do not really believe this)

Also, there is another 3" filler on the other side of the lazy suz cab.....so maybe it looks a bit better aesthetically?
