Master bath look and feel, vanity question
Comments (11)Thanks! Agree about the floor and windows being too much. Consensus seems to be do the windows and not the floor. Budget and practicality may make me choose one over the other (ie I must change the floor but need not change the window). You can just see the windows in this picture (the two windows through the arched doorway). (This was the LR/DR will become master bedroom and ensuite): Everyone seems to prefer the look of the second vanity, so I will focus on doing something similar. My head was turned by the beauty of the first, but I will let it go and move on now. nosoccermom, I will have the trough, rain shower overhead and separate handheld. Haven't turned my mind to tile or solid surface in the shower, I'd love solid surface but I'm thinking I should do tile? I love the vanity you posted, it would be great in my current house but for this place it is too sleek. I still want modern, but with more texture/age I guess. I have to mix the feel of the new-Georguan house with my minimalist/modern aesthetic. Black or bronzed fixtures? Any pros and cons? I think brass and gold would be too shiny, but I've seen some nice weathered brass....See MoreI am looking for some thoughts on a cabinet paint color
Comments (6)I am looking for cabinet paint color, current entire house is in BM Stonington Grey, On foyer feature wall in a "nautical" blue, lighter hand scraped hardwood. Cabinet is foyer is reading orange is is much more toned down. Open to all thoughts even if it kills me!LOL Unfortunately we have lost a lot of natural sunlight due to building in very close proximity to our house we do get some west facing light in the afternoon for about 4 hours. Will also need a new back splash as you can see by the first photo....See Morelooking for warm color to create cozy feeling in a great room
Comments (3)I love gray/ greens and sages in cabinsi nthe woods or with lots of interior wood and for sure not taupes at all. I would like to see the actual space and architects are not good at interior design in my experience I like all one color for walls and trim in a contemporary setting so I need to see your cabin. I have to beige would be a last choice for wall color almost anywhere.I like Saybrook Sage BM and often cut it 25% in a darker space I would also suggest better lighting in all LED bulbs 4000K you will be surprised how much better everything looks. FYI I never have considered LRV when choosing colors IMO they work or they don’t regardless of the LRV...See MoreLooking for paint advice for walls with Maple flooring/cabinets
Comments (8)Do you have a rug, couch, etc that have to be considered - cream, grey? When you say combining warm/cool, I would just use one color that works with floor tile and backsplash. If there isn’t any, I’d add to help pull the space together. Suggest holding off on the fireplace; with a more modern paint color, you may be surprised! I’d paint the side units also. Ask a paint consultant for light, warm undertones in the color you decide on and once narrowed down, suggest getting test pots. It’s a big space/commitment and you want to view during at different times of day....See Morealice462
