A perhaps silly under counter water filter question
Comments (12)We've had water filtration systems under our counters for the past 15 years, as we're on a small community well here in the NM mountains. Got to have one here! With our new reno, we put in Kohler faucets: the Vinatta and the Wellspring for our filtered drinking water. No, the filtered water does not come out in a trickle and the extra faucet doesn't get in our way. We're used to having two faucets. The last DW faucet was cheaper than our new Kohler Wellspring and I can tell a huge difference. The old one rocked back and forth, it wasn't sturdy and the water dribbled out much more slowly. The Wellspring is solidly built and we are very impressed with it. Here's my two Kohler faucets;...See MoreAnother Faucet Placement Question...
Comments (4)Both my DH and I are right handed and we're putting our: Faucet over the divider b/w the large and small basins (our large basin is also on the left) and slightly lower than the top of the larger basin Soap Dispenser (hand soap) in the left corner of the left (larger) basin Airswitch for GD in the right corner of the right basin Bottle of dish soap will be in the right corner as well The location of the soap dispenser is really dependent on which basin you think you'll be washing your hands in more...if it has hand soap in it. If it's dish soap, which basin will you use the dish soap in the most? If you don't think there'll be more hand or dish washing in any particular basin, then think about how you approach the sink to either wash your hands or put dish soap in a pan... E.g., Even though I'm right handed, I approach the sink with the pan in my left hand so I can adjust the faucet/water temperature/squirt soap with my right hand...so bottle of dish soap will go on the right. When I wash my hands, I put the soap in my left hand and again use my right hand to adjust the faucet/water temperature...so soap dispenser with hand soap on the left!...See Moreblfenton please? Sink placement to window?!
Comments (2)Our tap - the Grohe ladylux 3 - is positioned into the curve and then the curve begins at the window divider. And so the Faucet and divider are very slightly to the right of the window divider. It was a bit of a balancing act in trying to position the sink. Both my kids are at work otherwise I'd make them post a pic. And tonight is a major NHL hockey game for us so no pic-taking tonight. Hope this helps. If I can get a pic posted I'll give you a shout-out....See MorePrep sink faucet silly question
Comments (15)I do think the 14" would be tall enough to fill a large pot, and the added advantage of the pull-down is that you can pull it out and fill a pot that's sitting on the counter if you have to. I think the height of the faucet arc does help with tending to larger things like big pots...More clearance to get things into the sink and under the faucet...and, of course, has to do with style preference. I admit we get water splashed around the prep sink, but it's from hands and other sloppiness not associated with the faucet height. If that were the case, though, I'd choose to wipe up a little overspray rather than deal with avoiding a faucet that's always in the way. In the mobile home we lived in while we built our house we had a faucet without pull-out or pull-down, and I knew I'd never want that again. It would aggravate me if we didn't have the pull-down capability at the prep sink. I use it far too much and find it way too helpful. Love it for rinsing a strainer full of beans or veggies, and for washing out the sink. It probably saves some of the splashing problems others have, as you can bring the water down into the sink. Thanks for the headsup on the cabinet elevations. You know how to find me if you decide you'd like my help. :-)...See Moremorgne
