Help please with staging house for pro pics - images included
Comments (50)We are looking at houses today, including the one that we had previously placed an offer on. Oddly enough, they wouldn't counter our offer, but they have already lowered the price 10K. But I have already talked myself out of it for issues such as the easement and the street that it is on. I don't know if this was a self protection, my way of dealing with disappointment, or if these things are still really valid and need to be strongly taken into consideration. I'll see what my reactions are to it this time around! Check out this beauty of a room at the house I loved but my husband didn't. This is a master bedroom with gorgeous wall and ceiling moldings and bay window nook. I can just picture it with a vintage chandelier in place. We are revisiting this one today to see if the second impression is different (for either of us) and bringing a friend who is a contractor to tell us about the feasibility of remodeling the bathrooms (vintage yellow and black tile that is probably fabulous but has my husband running away screaming) and the dining This post was edited by kellienoelle on Sun, Jan 13, 13 at 11:14...See MoreMini Makeover (Pics included)..... Comments (9)I would leave the beams and the mantel in the family room the color they are now. I would paint the bookcase a warm creamy color that compliments the stone, not what appears to be the harsh white of the trim in the room, but I would paint the backs of the bookcases in the wall color. I hate the shingles, but if they are not up for removing them, then I would paint them the same color of the bookcase. I would really rather see them remove the shingles and just put on a solid trim board there and then paint it - I think it would make such a difference, and would still be a relatively simple fix. Refocus the spots on the mantel, not on the shingles and upper part of the stone where there is nothing to spotlight. Find a fireplace screen that fits the opening. I assume the other opening is for wood storage? I would paint the inside of that the cream color of the bookcases to take away the look of two black holes there. Leave the spindles alone on the stairs. I think they look fine. I would remove those huge panels from the walls completely. They add nothing, and the weird angles look odd. Can't tell from the pix, but I think she needs a much larger chandy in that stairwell, hung higher, rather than the little mini pendant hanging over the chair....See MoreSeeking advice on LR layout (TV/fireplace dilemma)- help please!
Comments (22)I think the sectional is just too bulky for the room.. would it be that bad to leave the TV over the fireplace? what are the actual room dimensions? If you hang the tv on the short wall you need to have a way to watch without straining your neck.. what is the width of the room from fireplace (with the hearth) to the wall? option 1 - get rid of the sectional (yes it is comfy but bulky) and put a sofa facing fireplace, get 2 swivel chairs (recliners or not) to either face the tv on short wall or swing around and face the 'people' sitting on the sofa and a narrow ottoman for additional seating.. sketch the room on grid paper with as exact dimensions as you can.. option 2 - leave the TV above the fireplace but i would still replace the sectional with a sofa and chairs so you have more walk through space and the ability to move the chairs if you need to....See Moresconce height around mirror above console - pics included
Comments (20)@JustMe uggggg stop sending so many good ideas lol. So, I actually wired and have power waiting if I ever did want to add a light, but I love how open and clean the line of sight is from where I am (front door-ish) across the house so I never installed a chandelier. With regards to moving table 90, and relocating the console, I guess it could work, I haven't tested out that setup.....Ill have to run it by the wife, empty the mother effer (its heavy) and decide if I have the energy to move it just to get a visual lol. As far as couch off the wall, I don't mind that too. I was going to add a chair anyway with a coffee table, cant I do that as it is? Is adding a couch console too many? Need a mirror, is having artwork or mirrors on all walls a bad idea? Just when I though I was adding sconces and done..........See MoreAnnie Deighnaugh
